I love online dating. I find it to be by far the best way to meet women. Definitely you should custom write a message per profile; it isn't hard once you get an idea how to do it. Also, I posted a brief note on online dating here recently. The key to online dating is your PROFILE and not your messaging. Messaging is for logistics. I post a decent amount on online dating on my website (www.joshsway.com) and here from time to time but since as you mentioned most on the forum don't seem to care that much for online game, I generally try to submit content /r/seduction readers care about.

If you're only getting a send:response ratio of 30:1 somethings going wrong. It should be between 3:1 - 10:1 depending on how physically attractive the girls you message are compared to you. Means there's room for improvement, which is good news.

I'd use POF if I was you, it's got more people than any other free site. If you live in a really small town or city, you will struggle. It's always going to be hard to be a womanizer in a small place.

A few things:

You're photos need to be really goo. If you're having low success, they probably aren't. As well as just looking good in them, they also have to convey you're personality. This means shots of you in interesting places, no selfies or shots of you home alone. Examples of my pictures and what they convey:

Me in a well known, but expensive, roof top / garden bar in London, wearing shirt / tie / Armani blazer: Good looks (it's my picture we're I physically look my best), wealth (I'm not wealthy, but wearing nice clothes in an expensive place shows I'm not poor).
Me in a nightclub: Outgoing, looks
Me doing a funny pose in the British Museum: fun loving, not too serious, not borin
Me outside a windmill in Holland: Likes to travel, interesting, cultured
Me by the river seine in Paris: same as above
In a restaurant, sat at a table pulling a goofy face: social (I'm obviously not their alone), likes to eat out, fun loving

So I've already conveyed a lot of positive points before they've even read my profile text.

In terms of messaging girls who say very little on their profile, I still never say "Hey, how are you?". You'll only ever get replies to that if she's really interested based on your pictures.

From my experience posting different profile pictures/using similar profile "about me"'s etc., on different sites, online dating is really only effective if you're an above average looking white male, willing to lie about a lot of your characteristics.

My profile for an slightly above average white "skater" type bro actually get's approached by 4-5's a surprising amount.

My actual profile (me not being 100% caucasian), with almost identical about me/traits and characteristics has never got any.

Create a profile posing as a woman that you would go after. Use pictures pulled from a different site of your "perfect" target, and use the same things in the profile. Save any good responses, and use them. You will get to see a number of different approaches, and tailor them to something that fits you.

Doesn't work if you are not a decent looking white guy. Some girls have a fetish for Black people so that will occasionally work if you are pretty good looking. All in all its a pretty shit way to meet women. Girls will actually prefer you gathering you balls and approaching them in real life.

ive got an old out of date, no picture, piece of shit profile on okc. ive sent maybe about 10 messages. ive had about 6 reply. ive met 2, a maybe 7.5HB asian who is the craziest girl ive ever slept with, and a HB9.5 from europe (im australian) who doesn't know many people here. I don't use it so much now i go out a lot more (I made it when i had no time) I just try and make my comments witty, and i make an effort to read their profile and comment on stuff that I like about it. if you make an effort and make them laugh (just like in real life!) they will respond.

I have an OKCupid profile with nothing in it. I use it to look around. On OKC users can see you visited their profile. I checked out one woman that was 20 years younger than me, no pic so I ignored it. A couple of days later she sends a message teasing me for not having a profile. I sent her back a sassy message, oh man I wish I could post it but I can't because women google this shit to see if you're just copying and pasting off the web. But my reply was absolutely brilliant if I do say so myself. She replied back that now she has to meet me. I'm waiting a day or so to reply, to keep her on edge.

So you can do online dating game even if you're trying NOT to have any game. Keep the right perspective, and women will fall in your lap. This is true in real life as well as online. This is why we do this shit.
