Funny how this context ENTIRELY changes the interpretation of the text/images.
[β]NextSpinach 28 points29 points30 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I thought this when I originally saw the image. I'm not sure why its marked wholesome. It is showing three obviously very capable creatures giving advice to an incapable creature that may not be very applicable.
Its like a 6'4' guy telling a 5ft guy to just be confident.
[β]Polaritical 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
House cats are crazy good at catching mice though? Like realistically probably even better than any if the larger cats would be.
Hunting is hunting and the little car is self aware of its limitations (its going after a mouse, not a fucking zebra)

[β]kalz44 17 points18 points19 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I could be wrong but this looks like yet another excuse that people give themselves for not taking action. We all had to start from somewhere. We all werenβt born being man eating lions...

HOUSE CATS ARE SUPER GOOD AT CATCHING MICE. BEING A SMALL CAT ISNT EVEN A DISADVANTAGE. IT'S PROBABLY ACTUALLY A STRENGTH. THIS IMAGE IS STUPID

Whereβs the incel making comments about how women are awful for not getting picked up? Lacks accuracy tbh.

Tigers are larger than Lions. That being said, anyone can improve themselves. People improving themselves solely to get girls are, in my opinion, improving themselves for the wrong reason. As it leads to the belief that once you get the girl, you can stop improving. Which isn't a good mindset to get into.
[β]Tutsks 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
You are right, and wrong.
Simply put, the only reason anyone improves themselves, other than corner cases, is to be more attractive/successful. Evolution made us so. So that's where you are wrong.
But you are right on the part where you can't stop.
Ever.
When someone does, he will invariably lose whatever he has to someone who hasn't stopped.

Simply put, the only reason anyone improves themselves, other than corner cases, is to be more attractive/successful.
It's about being more successful, which garners attraction from members of the opposite sex. However, it also allows one to rise up in a social hierarchy, amongst other things.
I don't improve myself to get women, that's just a side effect. You don't actually have to improve that significantly to get pussy. I improve myself because my career and success depend on it.
[β]Tutsks 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Consciously, maybe.
But our whole drive to do better, have more things, and even care about stuff like that tends to all be based around reproductive fitness.
Most animals get sated with much, much less than we do.
[β]Bobandjim12602 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I'm not denying reproduction has a part to play in it. But it's not that simple. It's also about social power, which guarantees more food and affords a higher standard of living. This is even demonstrated in animals.
Regardless, talking about evolutionary biology on this thread is pointless. If you wish to continue discussing this, DM me.
[β]NookSwzy 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You're very correct. Not everything done to improve oneself is about attracting women. For example, someone may learn a skill that allows them to gain a promotion or access a new job with a higher salary. And that higher salary allows them to upgrade their living situation to something more comfortable, purely because they wanted to live somewhere they preferred. That has nothing to do with attracting women.

I don't get it.
[β]Jay_Bonk 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
Most people on this sub are average guys trying to do better with women. The comic makes no sense.
[β]RompeChocha 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
I think it's that it's Pros or guys who are Jacked already giving advice to a newbie. That's how i see it. Pretty funny though.
[β]Jay_Bonk 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Most people who give advice aren't pros, they're guys who started trying and found some results.

[permanently deleted]
[β]Jay_Bonk 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
That's absurd. There's a whole range between someone who can't ride a bicycle and a Tour the France winner.
I sleep with women every once in a while. It's no where near as much as I'd like or usually with women that are as interesting or physically attractive bad I'd prefer. Clearly I am no pro.
[β]Tutsks 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I meant pro for here, not DiCaprio.
[β]Jay_Bonk 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Seddit isn't so sex starved in general.
[β]RaptorMan333 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I mean...isn't that exactly who you'd want giving advice? Pretty much any "pro" still lurking around seduction or game subs probably wasn't a natural and started at the bottom too.

The big cats are good hunters, but house cats are fully capable of killing mice and probably the best suited of the 4 pictured here (tiger aint gonna be able to fit into the crevices in my kitchen where mice like to hide).
Hunting is a universal and innate trait in cats although the scale/size of what they hunt differs, the techniques are pretty similar. The only way this would work was if the house cat was trying to push itself to hunt something its not suited to just because its holding itself to the standards of big cats.
This image is meaningless to me. My cat is an inbred moron who has short little legs and can barely jump but his mousing skills are excellent. Because he works hard, is patient, and just keeps persistent. Those big cats are giving solid advice thats absolutely applicable for the house cat

Leave some peanut butter on a mouse trap and walk away works every time! Now if we can only apply this to game.

[β]Woujo -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Even if it WERE like this, the advice for catching the mouse is still the same. There are no different rules for small cats, and there are no different rules for ugly guys. The only difference is that ugly guys just fail more.
