I started because I had literally no idea how to flirt being introverted and having Aspergers. Spent a lot of time reading stuff on this sub before actually starting to talk to girls and man was it bad, as awkward as could be. But I pushed through and now it's no big deal. I'm still working on my relationship skills but getting a date (and follow up dates) or a quick hookup is pretty easy these days and I do better than most of my male friends

This is very normal. It's a good thing. When it stops being scary you know you're not pushing yourself anymore and you need to go a bit further.

Just remember that if you approach and you're open, smiling and calm, most people will respond positively.

I was so sick of just going out and wondering does that girl like me?

Typical experience, man.

Part of it is because you're worrying about things ahead of time and ascribing too much meaning to things, too early.

Asking if the girl likes you, is already worrying too much. You don't know these people. Maybe they're lame.

So cut yourself some slack. You're going into these interactions as if you're petitioning these worthy people.

They're just people.

Yes, was terrified of people when I started. Like literally did not like going to shops asking for things or interacting with bank tellers.

It gets better as you practice. Social anxiety sucks but I can hardly remember what it was like now, as I'm pretty much shameless.

Takes time. Fighter pilots were shaky at first and unsure of their skill but they worked their way out of it, and they were taking a much bigger risk than you!
