The guy who wrote this article doesn't get it. These 'simple pickup' videos aren't to show off their skills or teach anyone, it's mostly to make people laugh. They have serious, useful content (though not all of it is valuable), but a video like this DEFINITELY is meant to be laughed at, not learned from.

Forget the article, has anyone noticed that a line like this usually crops up whenever pick up is mentioned? This is not even white knighting, it is the lowest form of pandering.

That is even disregarding the fact that it is extremely dismissive of the girls themselves. It is the same thing when they say something like "oh it only "works" on club skanks". Right, being confident and knowing what to do only works on club skanks.

Anyway, it is like the concept of pick up offends (?) them so much that they do not feel it is enough to just hate it, no, they must make efforts to "protect" the delicate flowers (girls) from rampant rakehells.

Beneath this sentiment seems to be something more basic. There is a dismay that girls actually like it when guys game them. It's like they're horrified that something which was learned rather than gotten "naturally" actually works.

Honestly, Simple Pickup was a huge part of my inspiration and introduction to this community, and even I knew their stuff was exaggerated for entertainment purposes from the beginning.

I think with a lot of the groups and personalities that are linked to this community, you have to realize where actual useful advice ends, and the entertainment/promotion begins. There's tons of valuable information from all these guys.

Sometimes I worry that one day, pickup will be mainstream and we "insiders" will be forced to adapt to the leveled playing field. Articles like this help assure me that that day will never come. More power to us : )

Simple Pickup is a menace to the community. They have exploited the community and seddit specifically, for their own profit and publicity. We are going to see a lot less of Simple Pickup around seddit from now on.
