Don't sabotage yourself by being creepy in photos.
If Facebook photos are surfacing in which you're posing with a group, giving that awkward creepy fake smile, you're hurting your cause (even if you don't have a Facebook, there are photos of you on Facebook).
Take some pictures of yourself, or pose in a mirror. Take note of what your facial muscles feel like when you're giving your most charming, heart-warming, fun-loving smile. Hint: smile with your eyes, not your mouth (thanks Savoy). You might be surprised that the best look in the mirror feels a little exaggerated.
If you feel at all awkward taking a photo (everyone patiently standing there while the photographer gets the camera figured out can do that), fall back on the facial expression you practiced.
On a related note, don't lean in to group photos. Try to position yourself near the center, in a relaxed pose.
