what's the first text you send to a girl after you've picked up her number?

my pick-ups always involve me suggesting we meet for coffee sometime, so i usually go with "glad we met. can you do coffee (date and time)?"

i feel like my response rate has a lot of room for improvement. a more intriguing first text might help.

So i feel like a lot of guys use the "High maintenance line" What i mean by this is "I'm too high maintenance for you." I used this and got the response "Oh nooo nobody likes high maintenance"

To which I responded "Oh dont call yourself nobody. im sure you're somebody to someone"

I think I got a shit test. I send her a message saying we should hang out sometime. Her response is "I want to get to know you more before we meet in person. Sorry!" Not sure what the appropriate response is. I am always an understanding person, but id like a fun way to encourage engagement from this chick. Rather than saying "oh I totally understand"...which is a lame response.

This is just the thread I need. Well...almost, I'm not actually texting her yet but I definitely need help. I'm not a PUA by any means, but I have been reading a lot here lately, and I managed to get a hired gun's number on Saturday, her idea. So I know I already fucked up by waiting almost a week to contact her, but we don't live in the same area anyway, so a day2 wasn't possible. I'm very aware she may just want to know when I'll go back and give her more money but there were a lot of good signs, so I'd still like to give this a shot. Basically I need some idea of what would make a decent opener, keeping in mind that she doesn't have my number.

Alright, me and her were hanging at my place, but then her roommate called her away with an actual emergency. After she left I saw that she left her headphones here.

I texted her saying I'm holding them ransom, and she texted back, "ruh row". What should I be holding them ransom for?

Well, it's too late to respond to this now but I have a thing for a girl (currently I'm seeing a different girl, nothing serious though) and I texted her to ask what she was going to do at noon since I had a break.

Her response 3 hours later: I was asleep at home.

I was thinking I could have just responded with something like "Trying to make me jealous I see." Then if she responded, I would be able to say "I'm jealous of the bed, not you sleeping" which would have been ballsy and hilarious even if I got no response.

So this girl is on a dance team and I know her through that because I'm on another dance team as well. We're pretty good friends so we joke around a lot with each other. Anyways, I had to talk to one her dancers about something for a class and i get the first text as I'm talking to the teammate and then proceed with:

Her: stop distracting my dancers -_-

Me: Don't be jealous, you'll get your chance to talk to me soon enough. (confidence/ shit test?)

Her: ......Your modesty is unparalleled. -_- lmaoo

Me: Well I used to be humble but then I worked on it and now I'm perfect. (this was something I picked up earlier in another post)

Back story is my FR from a bit ago (http://www.reddit.com/r/seduction/comments/12mtog/fr_did_great_with_the_hb7_might_have_killed_the/) Saw the HB10 bar tending again on Wednesday night and approached her she joked saying that i was pretty gone, she smiled and kept talking for a bit i ended it with saying nice to meet you again introducing my self and getting her name again.

Last night she randomly texted me:

Her: Hey Anon! Its HB10 from "Bar Name here"... you still in "city name here" tonight?

Me: Haha hey, yea i am whats up?

Her: Nice! I have the night off for once and am gonna go out so was just seein if there was a chance i might run into you

Me:Bout time! lol, been studying most of the day and i'll need a break in a bit, so yea there's a chance.

Me about 30 mins later sick of studying: Yep fuck this class im heading up to "bar name here" soon.

Her: Good! Maybe I'll seeya there :)

Ended up seeing her there at the bar and said we should get a table, i was sitting with a big group so i just went to an empty one and was gonna have one or 2 of my friends go with since she was with some of hers, she said that we could sit with my friends, So i went over to the big table and sat down placing a chair next to me, she just stood there with her friends, so i went back to the empty table with 3 friends and just chilled, i went to have some drinks not giving a fuck so any advice on texting her? So, I've been texting this girl for a few days, but I've run into a bit of a wall.

We tease eachother, and at some point she calls me smart, and smug:

Me: "Haha, I'm in no way more smug than you, but I'm not going to go against you if you're calling me smart" Me: "And I'm 21. You?" (She just asked me how old I was) Her: "Oh okay ;) But I'm not smug ;). Okay, 21"

It's been going a little like this for a while, back and forth, teasing here and there, but I'm not sure what to do now. I don't want to just continue down the same line of fear of making the conversation very dull..
