Better photos is #1. Colors. You having fun. You travelling. You doing something funny. No selfies. Nothing unflattering.
Fuck - stage a picture if you have to. Seriously - just make your pictures awesome - you WILL get matches. I am overweight, balding, and probably a solid 5/10 in overall looks, but I was getting 10 matches a day when I was tindering. Out of those, 2 were spam, and 3 were people that upon further investigation, I wasn't interested, and 5 were viable.
Next - and this might not work for you, but it always worked for me when I was sarging, texting, all that - get yourself a bit horny, and start messaging. I would get very bold and sexual without being overtly gross or annoying about it. I'm an introvert and I'm socially awkward. It's why I'm on /r/seduction. However, I've learned to cope and one thing that works for me is to be horny during interactions.
Frequently I'd be asked "What brings you to Tinder?" and I would answer "I hope this doesn't scare you away, but I started a new medication that makes me hypersexual and was bored." This wasn't a lie because I did start taking a medication that did just this. Who cares, though...just lie. I personally really fell in love with this line. It's honest, direct, communicates intent, and isn't the type of thing that is going to get you in trouble.
It worked. Really well. I mean sure, I was unmatched a few times, but definitely less than half the time. Usually we'd meet at a bar, or bowl or something like that, but probably 15-20% of the time, I would flat out be invited over to "cuddle." It was always cuddle.
I would like to emphasize another fact - I swiped left a lot. I wasn't indiscriminately swiping right. I'm sure I would have gotten more matches for girls I didn't want to be with if I just swiped right all the time.
Now "cuddle" is a safe proposition that means "sex if I feel comfortable enough" to a woman, so I understand that it's not a guarantee, but everytime I was invited to cuddle, it ended in more than cuddling.
Now, someone is going to point out the usual things that doubters and keyboard jockeys like to point out here "they were sluts" "they were problematic girls - I don't want that" etc. To that I say "I don't give a fuck. This is Tinder, and I'm using it for its most common use."

Yeah. At the time I was on Tinder, these were my profile pics:
I have a beard too. I realize that some girls automatically swipe beards right, and others are like "ew, facial hair" and still others swipe on a case by case basis. I tend to connect more with people who adore beards.
Next, keep it short and sweet in your profile. "I am looking for short lived adventures ;)" was my profile text. Most people ignore this though, so don't do much other than something short like this.
Finally, make sure you don't have something lame as your job listed on facebook. "Cashier at Walmart" will make women swipe left. I'm a marketing manager, so it helps me. Otherwise, I would have put down a joke occupation like "Bartender at Toys R Us"

If there isn't already, there should be a subreddit like /r/ratemytinder or something for people to post and get critiques.
[β]nobody2000 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
/r/Tinder does pretty good at this as long as people are okay with the extremely harsh criticism that comes along with it. Also - /r/okcupid has served as a catchall for dating website criticism

How do you go about uploading quality photos? For some reason whether I download them off my computer to phone or just edit with my phone they all turn out super grainy and low quality.
[β]nobody2000 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I literally just used Facebook pictures that I was tagged in or that I put up myself. I'm not totally sure what's going on, if some method of shrinking the image is messing it up for you.

Well I wouldn't say everyone is guaranteed to get matches.
Apps like tinder are based on pictures and unless you're physically attractive you're not really gonna get any matches.

"Don't do what everybody else does." Dont start the messaging with hi how are you what do you do. Start with some joke or something that stands out on her profile. Personally i think tinder is a waste of time and just do daygame.
[β]CibrecaNA 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Wym by daygame? Didn't see it in glossary to the right.

Approaching girls during the day. Rather than at bars or clubs at night, you go to the park or somewhere that you know girls will be.
[β]JefemanG 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Do both for best results. Tinder should be a supplement, not a primary method of meeting girls.
[β]EarthquakeBass 7 points8 points9 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Best way to get more/better matches is better photos, no way around it, Tinder is 95% photos based.
As for messaging, I suggest a few flirty messages followed up by an invitation to a specific activity and time ("Drinks at Paddy's Pub this Thursday?"). Get their number if they're interested. Otherwise they're likely just seeking Internet validation and you should move on.
[β]canadianal12 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
One thing that I found that worked for me when it came to messaging, is that I would try to talk to them off of the tinder app ASAP. I would ask for their number, snapchat or IG and just start communicating through there. Once we started snapchatting and liking each others pictures I found it was a lot easier to keep the interest and meet up.

After you read all the above^ Test, test and once again test. Use http://strongerpicture.com or any other tools like this.. you'd be surprised how badly people rate their own photos

Tinder is a way for people who already know how to pick up girls and fuck them to "streamline" the process. If you can't hook up easily on your own Tinder isn't going to be like an app that gives pussy to unfuckables.

There's a lot to that topic. Here's my favorite guide to online dating in general:

Don't do this. No advertisements with no content.
If you have something to say, say it, and maybe post a link. But a link with no content is just spam.

Oh give me a break, it's a free article. OP's question is really broad so I'm pointing him toward a resource that can help.

I'm no tinder god but imo it's better to have 1 good picture than 4 mediocre ones. Obviously the more good ones you can make the better though. If you have a dog or kitty I hope to god you are using a picture of you and said furry friend. If not find a cute pup and take a pic with it. It is the ultimate icebreaker in terms of getting women to message you.

Would guys ever pay for a life coach or dating coach? I don't mean on the scale of these game gurusβsimilar to a counselor, but a little different.
[β]SvenskaTuttar 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
No, but I would recommend a therapist. Shit is inside your head, only you can fix that but nothing will help more than therapy. It's basically a way to help you organize, understand and change yourself.
[β]jwils007 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
I would if I had the time and money. It's pretty nice to have someone to critique your game.
[β]Iknowyourusernames 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
What's a reasonable price? I always assumed most guys would be too uptight to seek something like that.
[β]jwils007 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
I don't really know. I always just assumed it was crazy expensive. I have a friend who's a daygame coach and he only charges $50 an hour, but that's because he hasn't really made a name for himself yet. A more established coach probably costs hundreds.
[β]Iknowyourusernames 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Damn, I had no idea of a price for this. Where does someone find a coach?!
[β]jwils007 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
The various PUA websites presumably. My friend is in Florida, I'll give you his info if you're interested.
[β]Iknowyourusernames 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
No thanks. My friend keeps suggesting that I offer my services. I have no knowledge of the industry. So, I'm a bit oblivious.

Dude, Rob Judge, the author of Magnetic Messaging just destroyed this other Dating Coach's Tinder profile π

I struggle with social anxiety, and so I have stared to use tinder,
Jesus Christ, man. Ironically, you have made the worst decision possible. Social anxiety is ALWAYS tied to low self-esteem, which you may not necessarily be aware of.
Unless you're a 6'2" male model, be prepared to have your self-image obliterated, especially if it was formerly a good one..
Not wise.
