Tl;dr: Asking girls out by texting SUCKS. Good calls are much more memorable and impactful than texts. Here's why.
Texting is always weaker than calling, because it takes 10x more balls to ask a girl out by phone which is a reason so few other people do it these days. That's an added benefit of setting you apart from her text buddy orbiters. Texting should be delegated to sending information like logistics that aren't worth a call. Girls who will under no circumstances talk to you on the phone have zero interest anyway, so it's a good way to weed those out, rather than have a drawn out texting relationship that will lead to nothing. If she won't even get on a phone with you, she sure as hell isn't going on a date with you and no amount of texting will fix that.
Fortunately, if she has even a little interest or curiosity in you, you'll be able to get her on the phone. She might pick up or call back. Though some girls will try to lead it to text by not picking up and texting you back, especially if you've only met briefly so far. In which case you just lead it back again. Like this:
"Hey sorry, I'm busy. What's up?"
to which I reply something like
"It's cool. I'll call you when you're free."
She'll give you a time or
"Just text me"
and I say
"Nah, I hate texting. Tell me when I can call you."
If she's still difficult about it she literally had no desire to ever see you again, not even as a friend.
Sometimes she might not pick up or return a call/text. In this case, all is not necessarily lost. She might have been busy and actually forgot. Here's a good text if that happens, but wait around a day before sending:
"Hey, if I call you now are you gonna pick up?"
Most of the time they're all like "Sorry I've been so busy. Sure, call me in 30!"(and of course you'd call her in 40 ;))
Once you get her on the phone it's soo easy to get a date.
Ask her how it's going and exchange a few lines of small talk. Doesn't have to be super witty or anything. Avoid being overly flirty, that's for the actual date. Just casual. You can even ask about her day, maybe make a funny comment or two. Keep it short then go for the date.
"Hey, so we should hang out some time." "Yeah definitely!" pause "How about thursday, around 8." "Either she accepts or sets a different date or time" "Cool, I'll text you the address. (or I'll pick you up for you Americans)"
So simple yet so effective over the phone and it only takes a few minutes. Short and sweet and makes her wonder about you and get excited for the date. You've become mysterious. If after all those displays of awesomeness she still is not setting a solid date with you. It's time to cut the bullshit and go full on direct (not angry, just firm). That would go something like this:
"Hey, we should hang out some time. " "..Sure" "How's Tuesday around 8" "I'm pretty busy Tuesday.. " "Okay.. Let me think.. aight Thursday then, same time. " "I'm really busy all week. I'll let you know. " "Riight. Listen, I respect it when people are direct. You seemed interesting enough to get to know better, but it's totally cool if you don't want to hang out. Not every person I talk to has to like me."
If you say this right, relaxed and casual, but assertive, not much different from the rest of the convo, most girls will be so impressed they immediately back track. Otherwise there really wasn't a chance no matter what and all it took to figure that out was 5 minutes rather than weeks of bullshit attraction killing texting.
Note there's nothing special about these words. You can do your own spin on it. It's to convey an attitude you should have when setting up a date on the phone. Which is light-hearted, casual, yet assertive and dominant. You'll notice the word date is never brought up. Everybody already knows it's a date, saying "Let's go on a date" brings up a bunch of expectations and pressure that hinders you both from going with the flow on the date and labels it as something generic you've already done many times. Saying hanging out makes it more spontaneous and feel like a more unique experience. This casual demeanor is important. Calling a girl for the first time is a way more intense interaction than texting for a girl, so coming off as casual in a call will set her at ease and make you very likable and attractive before the date has even begun.
