Because online dating. Women had to previously focus on the men in their immediate city, school, or whatever. With online dating and social media they have access to men they never would have been able to even talk to...plus women think they are all entitled to date all the top tier men

Don't be fat. It's just not talked about because men with a preference are shamed.

It's both social and biological. The 6 feet is social. The being bigger than her is biological. Women instinctively look for a protector. Biologically this is a physically strong and imposing presence the proof of a strong biological mate.

I think this is mostly a limiting belief. Sure, women want a taller guy but have you seen anyone who is as tall as you or even shorter with a partner? If the answer is yes, then it is possible.

Women, biologically tend to like taller. Taller equals safety. Taller equals protection. Taller equals better chance at producing quality off spring.

I didn’t say it was right or wrong. It’s just what they’re pre wired to prefer. Does that mean they all end up with that? Of course not, but it’s a preference.

Men prefer hips, big breasts, round asses etc. They’re the symbol of a woman, her ability to produce offspring blah blah blah.

Whether or not we end up with someone that exhibits all of these traits is unknown. That comes down to you, but biologically it’s usually the preference.

Height is significantly co-related with overall mass. Which is a predictor of who will win the fight (not totally reliable). The female monkey brain wants to date the dude who wins, because he's gonna have to defend her and her children.

And by contrast, many men prefer shorter because small size triggers our protective instincts. Which we often interpret as physical attraction, or at least cuteness. This is probably why women are more neotenous than men are too. Being small and cute afforded women a greater survival advantage via securing male protection and provisioning, than if women had simply evolved large enough for self defense.

Let women who want men over 6 feet look for those men. They are decreasing their own pool. Anyone who has checked stats know that that’s roughly 15%-20%. So best case scenario is 1 out of every 5 men. That’s not counting people older and younger that are out their age range. That doesn’t count the fact, most might not even make it to the dating app since they are “hot commodities” beforehand. Let them miss out on us 5’10 and 5’11 great catches(you shorter guys also) and let Darwin take them out when they prefer the reject 6’1” guy instead of the great catch sub 6 foot guy. And no not all guys over 6 feet are bad and not everyone under is good. But do you really want someone shallow enough to not pay attention to your real qualities?

I'm 5'3. I don't have a height preference. Shorter than me might be weird but that's rare. Maybe it's mainly very tall women who are writing that.

I'm 180cm and my gf is 156cm so yeah women like tall guys.

Another good friend of mine says she wants someone taller than her with broad shoulders because she wants to be wrapped up when held. Again going back to the protection idea.

But for me I find tall girls to be really sexy so maybe she can protect me instead.
