The situation

We have a lot of posts from guys that go something like: "I'm 25, a virgin and I think I'm ugly. Will this work for me?"

These posts detail a lot of issues, but talk very little about what effort they've put into changing themselves.

Why these are a problem

  • The details aren't that relevant

I've seen this work for obese 35yr old virgins, for skinny effeminate guys, for guys too nervous to even make eye contact with girls, for guys that are 3 feet tall with flippers for arms (I'm not joking, this guy is a beast).

There is basically zero chance that it won't work for your situation. You might not have it as easy as other people, but can you date 3+ women that are smart and sexy? Yes. Can you find a solid LTR? Yes as well.

As such, these posts really waste a lot of time trying to tell us how "special" the OP's situation is, when we should be focusing on their efforts instead. Which brings us to next part:

  • It doesn't include steps already taken

These post rarely talk about what PUA products they've read / watched, don't mention what changes they've already made to their life, and don't cover how often they are going out.

Without this information, the best we can do is tell them the same newbie advice as everyone else.

  • It doesn't talk about specific sticking points

Every guy is going to have different problems. Maybe they just can't think of anything to say, maybe they get numbers but can't get dances, maybe they can't sexualize the conversation. Guys need to talk about real approaches and where things break down.

Far too often guys post they need specific help, but haven't even approached a single woman!!! This is too early to be asking for advice specific to your situation.

Solution

Moving forward, we are going to have stricter requirements for these types of posts. Posts that don't meet these new rules will be removed and the OP linked to this announcement, where they can re-post following these guidelines:

  • Must include what books / products / guides the OP is already using
  • Must be going out (night or day) at least once a week, and include this in post.
  • Must have at least 20 interactions with feedback about specifically where PUA advice is causing them trouble, not generic stuff. Include this in the post, and discuss how the 20 interactions went for you.

Lurking on seddit is no substitute for reading some basic guides such as "Magic Bullets" by lovesystems or "Models" by Mark Manson. (actually, you should read them both)

Furthermore, rather than asking about imagined problems that guys are fearing, we need to focus on real problems they are experiencing in the field.

Example

I'm 25 and I've ready Magic Bullets, Cocky Funny and Models. I'm currently going out two nights a week and daygaming in parks over the weekend.

Most of my interactions go fine for the first 5-10 minutes, I get through qualification find and start with some comfort, but things fall apart when I start mentioning a date. The girl seems surprised, and even if I get her number, it rarely goes anywhere. What am I doing wrong???

Analysis

This gives us a lot more to go on than your average poster, and we can talk about specific thing to work on, like sexualizing the conversation earlier so your intentions are clear long before a date is talked about.
