Finishing up mediation now. Still some issues that should be resolved but I think we won't go over our $3500 retainer at $450 an hour. It all depends on what changes. I'll tell you right now I thought we had everything sorted out going in but now I'm arguing over stupid shit my ex wants to piss about. Stay strong and move quickly.

Oh, I got it well I plan to leave all silverware behind. I don't want 1/2 of anything. She banks like 30 grand a year more than I do. I just want my kid to have a stable house/ home.

Mine was somewhere in the $3500 range and it included a draft of the MSA.

But I’m warning on my experience. Once that draft was written my ex’s side tried to change a lot of it.

Ultimately things went largely in my favor, but I do have mixed feeling about how useful mediation was

4 hours @ $450/hr (split) + 4 hours of your own lawyers time. So roughly $2400 ea. is what mine is going to cost.

We decided to do it this way, until she decided to fight for petty items and cc bills she doesn't want to help out with anymore cause she changed her mind. Now I just may go with an attorney. If you go to mediation ask for more than you expect to get.

Some places offer flat fee. Most I looked into were around $3 to $5k

Wife and I are filing the divorce ourselves. I may pay an attorney friend to look over it for me, for any glaring issues. My states online divorce documents aren’t that hard to fill out. The court fee is $350

Mine was $9000. But my lawyer is $800 an hour.

I'm letting mine have the entire shabang, except for my wardrobe and few sticks of furniture in my man cave and TV..... all else, I'm going to make her responsible for moving out prior to the house sale.

I'm at $7,500 so far. Two kids, own a home and two cars. Married 6 years. She is pushing it back and back though because she knows I will get primary custody and she'll have to pay me child support.
