What’s your skin routine?

I follow a typical korean skincare routine, with a few more expensive serums from Herbivore and Drunk Elephant. It makes a huge difference. I am 39 and look more like I am 30, and am routinely mistaken for early 20's by older people who can't tell as easily.

Less is more. I personally use Paula's Choice 2% BHA Liquid, The Ordinary 0.2% Retinol in Squalane, and drugstore moisturizer/sunscreen (SPF 30+) because these work for me personally. I rarely wear makeup so I only use water to cleanse. My skin went from dry, dead and scarred from years of destructive picking to being super-soft and worthy of compliments from my dermatologist.

I have dry/combination skin and the weather in my area is humid.

The morning I wash my face with water, then tone with the remaining morning tea I took at breakfast.

After washing, I use a little bit of cream on my face (contain moisturizer, and mild sunblock), with massage movement on my face. Add Burtbee's mascara, some rouge on lips, slap lightly my face.

If I feel my forefront is greasy during the day, I use some tea to remove the grease and inhibit grease production. It's important to me, since I have bangs and bangs get greasy FAST.

The evening, I take a shower. I wash my hair with shampoo, then condition but I don't rinse immediately after. I leave the conditioner on and I shave, treat my callus-prone feet, put on a clay mask on my face twice a week. I am very careful when rinsing off the conditioner, since I'm very prone to acne and conditioner doesn't helps!

After the shower I make myself a tea and use the remaining tea to tone my face before sleep. Sometimes I use a night mask, if I want to be fancy!

When choosing products, either go with products which scents go well together (I pick stuff unscented or larfumed with roses or vanilla) or unscented stuff only if you wear a perfume that's your "brand". (Think Chanel No5)

Otherwise I avoid sugars, and greasy food, in general. I make sure I have enough sleep, and drink water and tea like a madlass.

If you're a excessive tea drinker like myself, wait 30 minutes after a meal to drink tea since tea inhibits iron absorption from food. Can cause anemia I think.

Changing beauty rituals radically at every month won't help at all your case, but bulid up, and do what you think is best for your skin.

Some want to do 9-step rituals, some want to do the bare minimum. And it's your choice and preference!

I have dry, dehydrated, sensitive skin, and I live in a humid area.

hydrating cleanser and moisturizer. it pulls moisture from the air into my face. if you're in a dry area it might pull moisture from your skin.

spf50 for sensitive skin

vitamin c serum to brighten, fade age spots, and plump lines

retinol A twice a week for skin turnover and plump lines

My skin has gone from dull, tan and some age spots, to more porcelain and glowing, over the past few months.

I too would like to know this. I have combination oily/dry skin which seems like a contradiction but I have a real hard time finding moisturizer and products that I'm not allergic to.

I'd highly recommend any of the Ordinary's products - they have a number of serums that are amazing for any sort of skin issues you may be experiencing: acne, fine-lines, wrinkles, rosacea, hyperpigmentation, dark spots, sun damage, etc. The best part is they are HIGHLY affordable - the average bottle of serum (which should last a few months depending on how often you use it) is anywhere from $6-14. They also have great cleansers, toners, and primers.

I've noticed great results specifically from their 10% lactic acid serum and their niacinamide 10% + zinc 1% serum - I recently had gotten a test tube of Sunday Riley's Great Genes and was obsessed with it but didn't want to pay the exorbitant cost and researched a dupe and a lot of people recommended the Ordinary's lactic acid formula and I honestly have to say it has helped just as much as GG!

Remember to wear sunscreen ladies! Sun exposure is responsible for 80% of visible facial aging signs. Reapply sunscreen every 2 hours outside.

I also get facials every 6 weeks as well. My skin is pretty much flawless now 😁
