I think I've seen this post before, and unfortunately there was a response from a guy saying;
'Men marry who they want, women marry who they can'.
I remember feeling helpless because I'm not sure if that's wrong. How do you feel about/deal with statements like that?

marriage is a scam for most women anyway. it's male propaganda that marriage should be the be all and end all in marriage. studies have shown that single women are happier than married women and married men are happier than unmarried men. why do you think the suicide rate is so high for divorced/single middle aged men? they want to scare us into lowering our standards so we'll settle for them, but dying alone surrounded by your cats is a MUCH better future than being a married to a shitty guy. go look at some of the posts in RPW, for example (some of the worst ones are crossposted to r/pinkpillfeminism if you're too lazy). just last night, someone crossposted a post where a woman works all day in a high stress job, has a retired husband, yet still has to come home every day and make them dinner. how is THAT a life? you'd literally be happier and less stressed if you were single because at least you'd have to do less cooking and cleaning. read some of the comments in this sub, AITA, or the relationship subs about women who are married, work full time, yet still do all or most of the housework, cooking, cleaning, and child rearing. i'd take being consumed by my cats ANY DAY over being married to a sack of shit. getting married to an HVM is hard, sure, but it's better to be single than end up one of those women begging their husbands to do the dishes just once. if you really wanted, you could get a guy to marry you. it's not hard. the issue is getting a DECENT guy to marry you. considering most men are pornsick and entitled, it's usually just not worth it.
women in the past HAD to get married because we were excluded from most schools and areas of employment. do you think it's a coincidence that the divorce rate started skyrocketing when women were allowed to have their own bank accounts, go to school, get birth control, etc? we don't need marriage and we don't need men. just wait it out until you find a man that benefits your life in every single way (e.g. you're less tired/stressed/angry/poor when you're with him) and keep him. if not, just live for yourself.... unless you want to be cleaning some loser's piss off the toilet, paying his rent, making twice the food, and all for what? because he loves you? a dog can also love you and they're much less work to take care of. at least when you're own you're cooking for yourself, travelling for yourself, making money for yourself, etc

This is true, I guess it's just the stigma that annoys me. I personally am against getting married because of all these reasons, I have a good career & assets and savings which are growing everyday that I don't want to be taken advantage of if the guy decides to leave me. I also have found myself to be happier when I'm single, but men always have tried to put me down saying that happens because I'm 'slutty' lol. I personally don't fear dying alone, it's such a myth anyway, you don't DIE with your partner..rarely do partners ever die exactly at the same time/place so there's most likely a few years that I'll have to spend by myself.
I have a partner currently & I feel like I did all the right things with him, i.e. we were work collegues and he asked me out a few times before I even agreed, and then waited a long time before having sex/saying I love you etc. He is amazingly supportive and respectful, has a good relationship with his female family (aunts/cousins/sisters), and now that we live together we share all the housework, he cooks most of his food himself and pays our rent.
All this greatness and honestly I still feel like I would rather be alone.

They're struggling with low match rates, low response rates and low interest rates. How about we package that message to men, who receive a 1% to 5% response rate on online dating. Unless they're in a relationship or married, 95% aren't getting laid. Period. They often go YEARS without anyone touching them at all. So...

I think the whole issue is that I feel as a woman I'm limited in my choices. I wish we lived in a world where women could reproduce after a certain age. I would love to be a 60 year old woman with a guy in his 30s carrying my baby but unfortunately that's not the case. Unless I want to pay thousands of $$$ to freeze my eggs I have limited time to have natural kids.
I'm glad that in this day and age we are able to make choices but it feels like the choices are to either be alone or settle (if you want children). i.e. I feel like women are forced to choose between their careers and family whereas men get to have both because they can just start their [natural] family at 60.

Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should. Imagine, when your child is graduating high school, you would be 80. When your child is looking for her first "real job" you would be in your mid-80s. Also, if the mother or father is too old, the child is more likely to suffer from developmental issues. I think the perfect time to have kids is around 30. You have enough energy, but also hopefully enough money accumulated to take care of a child and you got 10 years of being a young adult without any major responsibilities dragging you down. If people can't afford to have kids by 30, then there's something wrong with society, honestly. Wages are too low and there aren't enough support systems in place for families. It used to be possible to support a nuclear family of 4-6 people on one income, so surely people today should be able to support 2-3 people on one income?
What I'm taking issue with most is the fact you seem to think that men have all these options open to them that women don't. Yeah, men can theoretically have kids in their 60s but realistically 60 is the age most men start really deteriorating and they aren't healthy enough to raise a family. Only outstandingly rich and healthy men, of which there are very few, can actually start a family at 60. Don't believe the propaganda. Men only tell women that they have all these options because they want us to get jealous and feel an urgency to lie back and get knocked up before we can manage it financially. They want us to be financially dependent on our baby daddies. Meanwhile in reality, male sperm counts are continuing to decline, most men are worn down and have at least one chronic health issue by 60, and then to add to that, many of them suffer from erectile dysfunction.

I agree with all of that sis. I for sure think it's smarter to have kids in your 30s because of fitness and just being alive long enough to play with my grandchildren etc. I'm 25 at the moment and right now I have resources to support a baby if I wished to. I have a budding career right now which I would like to focus on but I feel I am bound by my biology and social pressures to start a family early. I do not have the luxury of waiting till 50 if I chose to.
My point is more that I don't feel like I have the freedom of choice. It is common for outstandingly rich/healthy men to be able to do this but what about outstandingly rich/healthy women? Some people don't want to have kids and then change their mind at 50. It's sometimes also not just the outstandingly rich men who do this, there are plenty of middle class/upper middle class men who leave their wives for younger women & are able to successfully make a family. Many couples are now conceiving by artificial insemination or adoption etc and that's great but it pains me that if I want a natural child I only have a small window of time to make that decision regardless of health, wealth or status.
