After my mother and father divoced my mother refused to get re-married. She feared that men would take advantage of her home ownership and her children. I am forever grateful for my mother and the hard choices she had to make for her children and avoiding LVM/NVM.

Pickme's don't deserve to be mothers, they deserve to be alleniated from the gene pool. Period

If you can't or don't want to protect your offsprings, then don't have them. Go mother a manchild instead.

A while back a friend told me about this woman she knew, that was was sexually assaulted by her father. She told her mother about it and her mother's response was "this is the way men are." I believe they were from the Caribbean originally, so her mother had grown up seeing men doing whatever tf they wanted to women with impunity well beyond what happens in the US where she lived, although men get away w/ plenty here. And just accepted that this is the way men are.

What a depressing, awful, horrible way to live, accepting that men can treat you like garbage, or choosing a man over your own daughter :(

Anyway this is why I got so angry arguing with extremely naive women and gold digging men on a relationship sub today bc I said the OP's gf was desperate for proposing to him (after he told her he didn't want to get married yet. Oh and she decided to date him when he was 18 and she was 25 lol). I got told I have internalized misogyny and "we've fought for equality" in relationships so "either gender proposing is equality and to say otherwise is disrespectful!!!"

There is no fucking gender equality in this world when men rape their girlfriends, wives, daughters, step daughters, and any women just because they can and feel entitled to. And the fucking sheltered, privilege, modern "feminism" garbage of saying proposing to a man is "we beat misogyny guys!" when rape is still happening to poor women like this, never mind all the other gender inequality of uneven domestic and emotional labor. Thinking men think like women, thinking men are raised to be as empathetic as women gets us killed.

Pick me’s like that aren’t even women in my eyes. They want the approval of men so badly they are willing to let their own flesh & blood child be raped. That’s grotesque.

It’s one thing for a young girl to have pick-me tendencies. It’s another for a grown ass woman to gladly allow her own daughter to be sexually assaulted in order to appease her man.

Yeah, so I have a mom (yes, I know the relationship is very toxic for lots of reasons) whom was abused by her dad growing up (drunk and LOVED all his daughters from a young age) he died when my mom was 10. My mom decided that the one who laid down the law was gone so she acted up... running away, smoking at young age, got into drugs and such to the abuse she had. She had me at 20. And started strong. Made all these rules to keep me safe from sexually abusive men (her partners, or so I thought) but she ended up dating this guy that liked meth and ended up exposing himself to me during one of their benders at home. (I was 10 at the time, and had asked a question about Male anatomy) He thought it was ok to show himself instead of handing me a book... or telling me it was not his place to answer and to ask my mother.

Thing is, all these years later I had no idea she blamed me for ruining their family. (I told my cousin and she made me report it to the school to councilor who then has cps in the office and had to report it to them as well) When she told me she blamed me, I threw it back in her face. I told her I DO NOT ACCEPT THAT and I was the CHILD that was supposed to be protected. You and he were the adults. I still am so mad at her for making those rules and then turning around and breaking them because "he's her soulmate" (believe me, I know my family is super dysfunctional) I was quite upset when I came home at 10 and he was there moved back in after cps told my mom to get a restraining order on him... she sat me down and told me, you can not make me choose between the man I love and my children... (thanks for choosing for me) she married that man in 98 and is still with him. I know I call him Dad because he has "proven" he is not that type of person. But I have a nagging suspicion that he really is that way and the drug just blocked his inhibitions and so he acted how he wants to act and not sure if I was"groomed" after this to make things smoothed over and not tell anyone else about this. (When my parents would find out I told my friends, He would get instantly angry. It's not your place to tell anyone about my life... Um, excuse me this HAPPENED TO ME, I am the victim not you) so my parents want me to keep it hush hush because they dont want others to look at them like that are scum...

Sorry for the long post... and venting...

Yep. If my husband died I will never get remarried. Ever. He's fantastic but it's not worth the risk to my daughter and my son.
