Did that with my now ex-husband. So not worth the 20+ years spent building him up so he could one day decide that I wasn't enough for him anymore. He regrets us breaking up, but I have 0 fucks to give about him. Now I'm building myself and falling in love with my own potential.

I’m like MsPennyLoaf, and I agree completely. It was a lot of luck and I 10/10 don’t recommend it. It could’ve all turned out so much worse but he flipped his life and kept it up and keeps improving. That is rare AF and simply unrealistic to expect from most. This is why FDS is so important and the vetting process must be ruthless—most men won’t change, they will get worse, and then you’re miserable.

They knowingly let us pour our love and support into them fully aware that they will give up and break our hearts. Both of these things are true, and sometimes in order to get that measure of success, a person has to sell their soul. I value people who won't sell out, who work hard, who are honest and do what they're supposed to do. Sometimes life is about taking a painful loss after working hard toward something. What do they do with that loss? How do they respond to it and grow? Thats whats important for me to see.
