As I learn the ways of FDS, I understand the "there are always more men out there who will want you" idea and it makes sense--abundance. But it also seems clear that most men are objectively awful, and HVM are incredibly rare--scarcity. How do you all navigate this?

I have a clearly HVM in my life right now, but we have some fundamental incompatibilities (different takes on religion, money, and children, i.e. the top three reasons people get divorced!). Just because he is a good man does not mean he is the right man for me. But I'm having trouble letting him go because men of his caliber are so rare.

There will always be more men but good men are few and far between--how do you balance this cognitive dissonance? I can understand the advice "realize you don't fundamentally need a man in the first place"--true. But that can be true and still not affect the desire to have a good man, and the slowly building self-worth that tells me, "you deserve someone to love who loves you." I know we live in a fucked up society, but honestly that shouldn't be too much to ask. Help?
