So, I read this a long time ago and I really don't want to Google this again, but during the war in The Congo in the late 90s, militants would raid villages and it was a standard practice to find the women, chop off their arms or simply slit their throats and then rape them while they bled to death. The idea was that these women would die and their final moments would just be them being raped. A fun little power game of sorts.

How that shit is 7th and we only got 10th is mind boggling. Men wolf whistle here. WOLF WHISTLE! Geez.

I was browsing r/women just for curiosity's sake (I know, I know) and they had a thread open about this list. A woman commented about how she lived in Pakistan and felt like she was always safe. Why? She literally said it was because she always had to stay indoors or have a male escort her at all times. The comment had 18 upvotes at the time and probably has more now.

Its really interesting to see how modern feminism doesn't apply across different cultures in those circles.

Oh, this is sort of what I do for a living. Let's add some other countries to that list to prove a point.

In Libya, they literally have a growing extensive slave trade again. Slaves. I'm pretty sure the women aren't just housekeepers. In fact, a lot of the countries in the Middle East have "indentured servants" which is a complicated/roundabout way of saying "slaves". Plus, they put up Syria but forgot Iraq. And hey, fun fact, did you know you're allowed to rape your slaves? Yeah, they're property, not women. Therefore, you're all good.

They forgot North Korea. Just North Korea. They forgot it. It's not on their top 10. It should be top 10 worst places to be alive, but nope (I've thought long and hard about "worst country to live" but that question is kinda complicated).

It's mostly in "Muslim Africa" where you find genital mutilation. I guess that's what Nigeria could be on that list for (Boko Haram, anyone?), but there's a long list of other African countries that mutilate the girl's genitals and yet ...

Canada. They forgot Canada. A country run by a soft man who has been accused of some MeToo stuff. How could they forget Canada?
