If you are religious, God challenges you in ways you cannot understand, you must conquer these challenges and grow, these are the thoughts of a victim looking for reason to regress instead of grow.

Old testament and new testament seem to be different gods.

I'm not a to-the-letter Christian at all, my current belief/suspicion is that we are having a human experience as part of a long string of reincarnations. As humans we can be born boy or girl, and we get through both in many circumstances to collect experiences.
Some say that God split itself up in many part-souls, all made of the same divine fabric, with enough particles there to build a whole gods. We all got scrambled and let loose, on a journey to collect experiences/insights and re-arrange ourselves (reduce entropy) until we're structure such that we can just absolve back in to the greater God. There are in between steps with soul groups and the like, but that's the general idea.

As young men we are really challenged, while young women have it hella easy, at least in our time. Centuries ago when they didn't have as much of a say, they thus also didn't get to decide much for themselves. Young men, always need to decide, big decisions. When we're older, we get to live the life. Women are suffering at a later age, living through the consequences of their own decisions they didn't think were going to matter. Short term thinking.

Older women might ask whether God hates women, but really they were ultra blessed until 30 or even 40, but many will still complain and blame men for anything. Easy life, if you get to complain and be tended to.

I'm not Christian, I'm Pagan (it's like similar to Hinduism, a bit like a 'Western Hinduism'), so I reply you by my religious point of view. In Paganism, God is the Universe, because the Universe is illimitate and so there is nothing outside the Universe, so God is the Universe. But being so illimitate it cannot have a personality, so God-Universe is impersonal (for this reason is called "the One"). Just like the Universe is made by different natural forces, so God/One is made by different Gods, which are the Spirits of Natural Forces, ane which are the parts of the One. Like the parts or limbs of a body. So the Gods are the Spirits of Natural Forces and Personal Aspects of the Impersonal God (the One). Every culture called each of those Natural Forces' Spirits with a different name, for example the Sun God is both the presence of God (the One) in the Sun, but also is the Spirit of the Sun, and is called by different cultures with different names, like Surya in India, Apollo/Helios/Sol in Greece and Rome, Amaterasu in Japan, and so on.

All of this for saying that being the Gods the same as Nature, they have parts which appear to be cruel, such as the hurricanes, the natural disasters, and so on. But they are part of the natural order to have a balance, because otherwise the all system would be destroyed. If we don't have hurricanes, species decimations, starvings and so on, we cannot have new species emerging, the wonders of nature and so on.

Similarly, the Gods show us with their actions in Nature that everything is impermanent, so the hurricane is not forever, the rain is not forever, the flood finishes sooner or later, and so many times we live the hurricane (feminism) but our understanding that everything is temporary and impermanent make us understand that every pain is just temporary.

We start as little simple souls, we start as stones, then as plants, then as animals, then as humans. And our consciousness is very primitive, so in order to "perceive" we need pain, because we cannot perceive higher and more subtle sensations if we still have parts of ourselves which are feeling as a rock. We need shock in order to distinguish our consciousness from the rest of the collective consciousness. This cycle is useful because we, becoming new consciousness, expand the total amount of consciousness in the universe, doing the spiritual equivalent of expanding the universe that the effect of the big bang is still doing today. But after we become new consciousness, that we become separate, we need to go back to the One, not as unconsciousness, but as new and added consciousness that will come back to the one in a conscious way. When we return to the One (Henosis, similar to Moksha/Nirvana in Hinduism and Buddhism), we start to perceive in more subtle ways, so we don't need this amount of pain anymore. We can perceive more meditational happiness, more subtle forms of joy. Once we return, we can return and perceive to be everywhere, diffused in every single thing in all the cosmos, we are in the same moment in every corner of the world, in the sea, in the earth, in the winds, and so on. We can return to the One from a human starting point, by becoming Heroes (similar to Buddhas/Jivanmukti in Buddhism and Hinduism), or we can start from the condition of Natural Spirits (for example spirits of localized natural places, such as a grove, a spring, and so on) and in that case we become Gods.

Anyway, the myth of Er tell us that we CHOOSE which obstacles we will face, and which life lessons we will learn from them. We choose them in the Otherworld between the reincarnations before going back to Earth. The Gods and Goddesses of the Fate/Destiny will make us choose, will confirm our destiny and will give us a part of our soul (the Daimon) which will have this destiny inscribed within it. We cannot escape from this suffering, but as the Golden Verses from Pythagoras tell us, humans suffer from self chosen sufferings. Because we chose which obstacles we will face, because this suffering is helping us growing our consciousness. When we cannot perceive life lessons in a good way, Destiny will give us the emotional pain equivalent, in order to work with it.

If we can work on this suffering and helping us to detach from our negative emotions (the stoic "Passions"), we will evolve in our understanding of the world and in our detachment and defusion from the emotional turmoil we perceive. If we:

see in a detached way our emotions, trasmutate them (similar to emotional vipassana/mindfulness in Buddhism and karma yoga in Hinduism as taught by the God Krishna in the Gita where he says that the enlightened being lives suffering and pleasure, loss and gain, fame and despise in the same way; dedicates every action to a God or the One; and act for the pleasure of the act without thinking about the results of that action - a very useful advice for activism, that we should do without being attached to the fruits of our action of activism, without expecting results but just acting because it's our Dharma/Daimon/Life Mission/Life Destiny),
understand that the Universe/One (the stoics called it the Logos) is already perfect and we just cannot see it because of our lack of perfection in our perception (as buddhists say, Samsara is Nirvana and Nirvana is Samsara, with different perceptions depending on how you live it with your point of evolution, with an enlightened/heroic view or with a mundane view), with Amor Fati
and learn the life lesson inscribed in that suffering so that it will not touch ourselves anymore and retire our projections (ie for example asking ourselves why, with so many things in the world that are hurtful we are hurt by that in the specific, what tell us about parts of ourselves in which we did it and we don't admit or received that injustice ourselves, and working on that trauma, by asking ourselves when we perceived that hurtful situation ourself or something similar that hurt us emotionally in the same way the first time in our childhood or adolescence [affect bridge] and perceive the sensation/emotion and staying with that emotion in mindfulness without thinking or rumination and just staying present with the curiosity of feeling that sensation/emotion in our body until it disappears or is changing and is replaced with positive sensation [transmutation/emotional alchemy], and going on by dissolving all our traumas with defusing/detachment/observation of feelings in the body staying in the present moment)

If we do all of this, then more suffering will not be given to us because it's not helpful anymore to grow or if it will come regardless for a bit we will perceive it in a different and more detached way and will not suffer from it. By acting like this, moreover, we will go on in our path to become Heroes/Gods/Buddhas/Jivanmukti and return to the One.

Remember, everything and everybody will ultimarely come back to the One, so all suffering is temporary, included suffering that afflicts men. Men and all the sentient beings in the universe will eventually be liberated by the cycle of suffering.

With this in mind, it's easy to understand why stoics said: "the Obstacle is the Way".

If God exists he is either a fool, an ignorant bastard an immature child playing with us like with toys.
and that isnt limited to men, women or humans. This world doesnt have to be as terrible as it is but if god exists then I certainly won’t mind blaming him.
