I came across this gem being cross posted on Facebook (where else..).

Recently there has been a new kind of sexual harassment, which deserves a new name: "Meta-Harassment" Meta-Harassment can catch you at any time, unaware, but is particularly common in relationships with power gaps.

In a job interview: "can I close the door? You know.. Today you have to ask"

by a coworker: "on a birthday we're allowed a hug, right? This is not sexual harassment"

I was standing in line at the cashier's the other day and she had a sticker in her hair. The guy let her know and giggled saying "I would have removed it myself, but you never know how it will be misinterpreted"

the beauty of this phenomenon is that if it is indeed sexual harassment, then announcing that it is not, will not make it so.

even if he acts themselves are not sexual, by doing the above, you are reminding the women at least partially, that she is a sexual object, at least partially.

It seems as though people were trying to set boundaries or respect other people, bit even this can be seen by some as harassment, even the name "Meta-Harassment" is a dead giveaway..
