Because any of that ever happened to any of them. I make it clear to anyone who's aggressive with me that if they try it I will either slam them teeth first into the ground to neutralise the threat or simply punch them out and that's a lot bigger reason than some chick getting forced into a corset a long time ago.

I might not be reading it right, but to me the post sounded very sarcastic. That may be because I usually read jezebel and kind of understand their tone. Also, they've mentioned distasteful uses of violence against men in comedy, so I do think it is odd.
However, I do find very disappointing some of the comments from women, because if you pretended that they were all men, then I think it would put a really bad taste in those commenters mouths.

Trust me, as the husband of an abuser, some women feel completely justified in violence and believe they are immune to law enforcement.

What is worse is that many of us men who are abused actually believe it too. We've seen the police take her word for it over and over again even when we were clearly injured and she was not...

The woman (my wife) repeats to her husband (me) over and over and over again that he (I) deserve, it is his fault that the violence is cause by him.

By the way, DV shelters don't seem to accept men who are abused...

Wow, I don't know any men that would gleefully say the things they say in their comments. I have never laid a finger on a girlfriend. The worst thing I've done is slammed a book down on a shelf and called a girl an effing bitch. She slapped me actually. This was in my angrier, younger days and I regret not extricating myself from that situation before it escalated to that point.

According to a study of relationships that engage in nonreciprocal violence, a whopping 70% are perpetrated by women. So basically that means that girls are beating up their BFs and husbands and the dudes aren't fighting back.

Let's hear it for girl power. Childish shit like that supports the point of view that most adult females are tantrum-prone, self-entitled, breezy children.

That page is serving ads from the 'double click' network, which also serves Google ads. If enough of us complained to double click (probably only a dozen) then Jezebel would have to take that article down or lose its ad revenue (which I imagine is a lot).

Women obviously can be abusers, but I honestly question how much of the 70% of domestic violence this study says is done by women is really comparable to the violence done by men towards women. Women are, on average, considerably smaller than men.

I had a girlfriend a long time ago who hit me on several occasions. She did no damage whatsoever; she was much smaller than me, and I quickly grabbed her wrists and stopped her. I broke up with her shortly afterwards, but her hitting me was about item # 1000 on my list of things that troubled me about her.

Again, women can be vicious abusers, and can seriously hurt men, and men suffering real abuse need to be protected from this just as women are. But pretending that women are the primary abusers because of "abuse" like what I experienced really undermines the credibility of men's rights activists.
