Disturbing example of a judge with feminist convictions so strong she could not restrain herself during a rape trial so much it was deemed an unfair trial. This case will be retried. But one wonders about other rape trials she presides over, where she *will* restrain herself, but not her bias?

YES! MRA's fighting back in Kenya - UN/WHO is forcing men in circumcision. Due to resistance it is now shifting to non consensual circ of infants - In Philippines 70% of boys get PTSD (Circs are done IN PUBLIC age ~10 - see paper and 40% in one cohort were infected)

Teachers mark girls higher for IDENTICAL work to boys (OECD study). Furthermore, a boy will receive 1/3 higher grade in reading tests if the techer does not know he is a boy (OECD) From kday 1 of early yers education they also grade boys lower despite them objectively getting higher test scores

This is a great counter arguement everytime someone here posts men kill etc. I am suprsised I never thought about it! The number of women who save mens lives at risk to their own lives (e,g, firefghters, moutain rescue, milatry, every day hero) is almost negligble compared to men

For every 1 woman in Wales, £3.44 is spent by the government on womens groups. For every 1 man, £0.04 is spent. Remind me again which gender lives shorter, has worse health, more likely to be a victim of crime, worse educational outcomes, homeless, incarcerated, suicide, victim of hate crime, etc?

The writer of the article says: "The case is another example of the difficulties that can arise in sexual assault trials where the rules of the court can seem at odds with social inclinations." WTF is that supposed to mean? They need to just report the news not come up with some gibberish about "difficulties" and "social inclinations."

[+]YourPillsAintWorkin10 points 5 years ago* [recovered] (3 children) | Copy Link

“social inclinations”. The article misspelled prejudice.

[–]JoeSmith1907 68 points69 points70 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

And the difficulties just arose by themselves, right? If only those pesky rules of the court about due process hadn't gotten in the way, there wouldn't have been any problem in keeping the guy in jail. Whoever wrote this article should go back to covering the local bowling tournament.

[–]killcat 10 points11 points12 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Which is what they did in Spain.

[–]JoeSmith1907 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I can't imagine why any man would get married in Spain these days. The legal system is worse for men there than in any other country I can think of. Do you have any idea of what's happened to the marriage rate there?

[–]playingpoodles 26 points27 points28 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It means, 'how dare men have the benefit of law, and appeals system'. (Which, incidentally, we DON'T really have - maybe now and then extreme examples will go the man's way, but for sure the deck judicially is seriously stacked against him - less so in criminal trials, due to the burden and standard of proof, but they have done everything possible bar remvoing the burden and standard to ensure convictions in cases where guys are accused of sex offences. Imagine that English woman recently who was acquitted of doing the 14 year old boy, claiming she thought he was 16 - imagine if the genders were reversed, and he was some sleazy old single dad with the 14 year old girl, you think he would avoid conviction?

[–][deleted] 19 points20 points21 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Perhaps it means this:

"That same year, the Ontario court also overturned the sexual assault conviction against Mustafa Ururyar in a much-publicized case. The judge had issued a bizarre, 179-page decision quoting academic studies and literature about sex assault, including three pages on Maya Angelou’s I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings."

Omg! Good to know. Freaking amazing.

[–]squeakypop28 5 points6 points7 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

social inclinations

Social inclinations means the inclination to always automatically believe women.

The author is saying "difficulties that can arise when you assume the male is guilty but are forced to follow the presumption of innocence by law"

This Judge should not be presiding over cases that involve litigants of the opposite sex.

No one should be subjected to a judicial bias during the course of a hearing.

[+]kegendean1 points 5 years ago* [recovered] (2 children) | Copy Link

I read the article, I didn’t see it say anything about what the judge said beyond that in the official statement they decided that each individual interruption was fine, but the sheer number showed a bias.

I get a mistrial, and good on the court for doing their due diligence in correcting the issue, but I’m not sure what’s “disgusting” about it. Did everyone else read a different article? Was there a link to something she said? I no quotes from the judge at all.

[–]Quintrell 29 points30 points31 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

That’s not what the article said. Interruptions like that are pretty unusual and each one was not fine. The higher court intimated that one or two might not have been enough to overturn the decision but that taken cumulatively the judge had clearly shirked her responsibility of being a neutral arbiter and stepped into the role of advocate. If the judge’s actions were motivated by sexual prejudice (which I wager they were) then yeah I’d call that disgusting

[–]threaddew 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There should really be a formal review of all her preceding cases that could have been similarly effected, and some sort of evaluation of her capacity to perform such duties in the future. The judicial system is broken.

[–]ssebastian364 62 points63 points64 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Why is it okay to publish the accused's name but not the accusers? Poor fucker hasn't even been convicted yet. His life is ruined even if he is found not guilty. maybe I would also like to know the accuser's name so I know to stay away from the crazy bitch last I wind up with a false rape accusation to my name.

[–]playingpoodles 3 points4 points5 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's just the most obvious and extreme things an appeal court can ping her on. If she's more careful in future, she can still fuck up the accused and influence the jury more subtly and get away with it. I'm sure she will. Happens all the time, this and in family court, and in fact often male magistrates are by far the worst - they take extra delite in fucking over other men, these magistrates are typically guys with serious personality disorders, but a bit of money and good schools in their early lives. They love seeing a guy or juvenile going to jail where there's clearly been a tete-a-tete but the surrounding evidence like her talking about having sex wtih him in presence of others, disappearing off with him, then claiming 'he was like an Octopus, I told him stop but he just wouldn't listen!'

[–]Mindraker 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The British "Crown" court system is already biased against the defendant as is.

[–]LEGALinSCCCA 30 points31 points32 points 5 years ago (23 children) | Copy Link

In my opinion, I think many female judges are feminists and narcissists. Where else do you get the chance to have so much power over so many men? And the power to help women. Judges have too much unchecked power. Fuck appeals. Most people can't afford them.

[+]kegendean9 points 5 years ago* [recovered] (20 children) | Copy Link

You do get how ridiculous what you said makes you look right?

You’re letting a person’s gender bias your opinion about who they are a priori. That’s literally the exact thing people are dragging this judge for. It’s the exact same thing.

[+]keyjunkrock -23 points-22 points-21 points 5 years ago* (19 children) | Copy Link

Lol right?

I used to frequent this sub, it's a sexist shithole now honestly.

The last straw was commenting on a post about circumcision that I had it done in my 20s due to phimosis. Bunch of assholes banded together to ask me what its like " not being whole anymore". Like what the fuck does that even mean?

They were fucking brutal assholes. I was downvoted to hell for having a circumcision, and attacked for saying it wasnt that bad, and definitely better then phimosis.

Edit : you people are fucking sick. Do you realise how many men are circumcised? You're going to call all of them mutilated now? Do you understand how fucking disgusting that term is?

Jesus christ.

[–]Jakeybaby125 14 points15 points16 points 5 years ago (18 children) | Copy Link

We're not sexist. Don't know where you got that from.

Because there are other ways of dealing with phimosis than getting cut and you were insulting intact people by saying being cut was better than phimosis despite phimosis being more prevalent among mutilated men.

[–]reverbiscrap 3 points4 points5 points 5 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

Not sexist, but idiots for telling a grown man he is wrong for the choices he makes with his own body.

[–]Jakeybaby125 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

True. There are other options and the way he said that being cut was better is incredibly condescending

[–]reverbiscrap -1 points0 points1 point 5 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

But he chose the option he wanted, got the result he wanted, commented on how it changed his circumstances, and other people jumped on him because he apparently had the wrong opinion. He didn't get 'condescending' until after people tried to tell him he was 'wrong' for making autonomous bodily choices. It's mildly pathetic.

[–]Jakeybaby125 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Welp, it was his choice. Not sure if he'll live to regret it but to call an entire sub sexist because of a few bigots who are quickly shut down is just arguing in bad faith

[–]reverbiscrap -1 points0 points1 point 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Bro, why do you care so much about another man's dick? I think you need to ask yourself that. The guy's mistake was not agreeing with the echo chamber that circumcision is always bad, no matter what the situation is.

As for the sub, yeah, he is more right than wrong. The mods allow more needless shit-flinging than they did in the past, and more attacks on women, rather than promoting healthy masculine culture and men's rights.

[–]Jakeybaby125 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I don't. I just want men to know the decision they're taking. In completely anti-circumcision and don't think any man should go through with it unless they have tried all other alternatives

No he's not. He's wrong. The sexists are banned straight away or at least downvoted to oblivion before they're banned. Antifeminist ≠ antiwoman

[–]keyjunkrock -1 points0 points1 point 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And that's my point.

They literally did everything I said I my comment. Called me fucking mutilated, how the fuck do you say something like that to another person ?

[–]keyjunkrock 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No. It was the only option given to me.

How is calling me fucking mutilated in any way helpful?

[–]keyjunkrock -1 points0 points1 point 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I didnt say that, I said I was ok with it. I also didnt have a choice. You fucking asshole.

[–]Jakeybaby125 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

[–]keyjunkrock -1 points0 points1 point 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]subpar_man 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

There are plenty of sexists in this sub. Thankfully, many get downvoted to the bottom but they still float around here.

[–]Jakeybaby125 5 points6 points7 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I know but to generalise those few as the norm for this sub is arguing in bad faith

[–]keyjunkrock -2 points-1 points0 points 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

We're not sexist. Don't know where you got that from.

You're extremely sexist.

Because there are other ways of dealing with phimosis than getting cut and you were insulting intact people by saying being cut was better than phimosis despite phimosis being more prevalent among mutilated men.

Thank you, for literally proving my point. I never said it was better, I said I was ok with it. You just called me mutilated, you sick fucking pathetic little sexist man. I'm the one with the problem here, got it. You angry little weirdo.

[–]Jakeybaby125 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Proof?

You've lost the argument. If you're trying to get a point across, don't go for the personal attacks. That makes your argument dead and shows you don't have anything of value left to add

[–]keyjunkrock -3 points-2 points-1 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

You personally attacked me. That's your argument? Lol

Christ you are extremely sexist, and clearly compensating. Not sure why my dick bothers you so much.

" if you insult me back, after i insult you, you lose all credibility" is your entire fucking argument.

Ok trumpet. He lost, dont take it out on everyone else.

[–]random_tripper_ 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Don't think you know what that word means. Your example of sexism is not. It is an example of people projecting their experiences with being circumcised onto you, and attempting to silence you via insults, but that isn't even a little bit close to sexist.

I'm sorry for people calling you mutilated and that it hurt your feelings. I do feel like my parents mutilated me, and I really don't appreciate people tone policing my experience with circumcision just like you don't like it either.

Now, I'm gonna block you because you've been incredibly rude and that feature is amazing. It really does let me say, this conversation is done.

This is part of a wider trend where you are guilty just by being accused. Canadian politicians have moved the goal post many times to make prosecuting the accused easier, hence, having a higher likelihood of a guilty verdict. For instance:

  1. The accused was always entitled to a preliminary hearing. This is no longer the case as of 2016 when Canadian politicians voted to abolish it.
  2. Sharing of Defense's evidence: It used to be that the defense was able to show their evidence (texts, pictures) at trial. Recent rule changes now require that the defense SHARE the evidence BEFORE the trial, which gives ample time to the complainant to try and explain any contradictions.

The above are only two recent changes in making the accused more likely to have a guilty verdict. There has been many smaller changes, some of which you can find in /r/falserapeaccusations

It's becoming a very scary world out there for men, where your whole life can be destroyed by one allegation. Even if you're found not guilty, you left with a hefty legal bill, often times going into the $100k range.

My own wife made a false rape allegation against once she found out I found out she was having an affair. Her allegation, without even going to trial, gave her my house and kids. She has prevented me from seeing my kids until I can prove my innocence in court, which is something I'm still waiting for.

Young men need to be very careful when it comes to women! Always:

  1. Record your conversations/sex. If you live in a "one party state" (i.e. Canada) you can record without the other person knowing. Record yourself saying "let's have sex" on your phone so she can't make a false allegation.
  2. SAVE all your texts/pictures! These may save your life. Back them up in the cloud and NEVER get rid of them. You may need to refute some of her allegations even YEARS after you had sex with them.
