I went to Rockfest in Kansas City two weekends ago, and had a pretty decent time. I wore one of my kilts (kilts ftw) because they're comfy as hell and make me look awesome. However, I had some...interesting encounters.

  1. Numerous people asked me what I was wearing underneath, almost exclusively women.

  2. One chick grabbed my ass.

  3. One drunk and/or stoned woman actually stuck her head underneath my kilt as I was walking by. She got more than what she was expecting.

Now, as I've been wearing kilts for five years now, I'm used to this sort of behavior. But, it strikes an interesting parallel to some of the encounters and behaviors of which I've heard feminists complaining. Specifically, sexual harassment, being groped, etc. I imagine some women that were treated the way I was would be rather upset. However, even though it's not my fault that women grab my ass or stick their heads under to see my dick, I could have prevented that sort of behavior by not wearing a kilt. It draws attention to that sort of behavior from women. It's not victim-blaming, it's risk assessment.

Now, full disclosure, half the reason I love wearing the kilt is the female attention. I don't go out of my way to approach them or anything; kilts are chick magnets, so I let them come to me.

All in all, it was nothing too terrible, but it was kinda interesting to basically see things from the other side, as it were.
