Neither shyness nor submissiveness are inherently introverted traits.

Extroversion and introversion are two different ways of orientating oneself in the world. Some traits are more correlated with one side more than the other, but you can't determine extroversion or introversion just by observing behaviors or traits.

It's impossible to classify people by these stupid personality types. Every person is different, introversion vs extroversion is no indication of how big your ego.

Submission is a lot about confidence in yourself and ego. Having a big ego is really a form of weakness/defensiveness, and I have a pretty large ego. I would rather do the opposite of what you want if I feel you get off on me submitting to you. This is probably because I think people subconsciously think introverted people are easier to take advantage of.

Extroverts are not used to, and probably why I find that extroverted people are more submissive.

Introversion has little to do with submissiveness and nothing to do with attractiveness in and of itself. Introverts will rarely be the "life of the party" and if you are shy and unassertive then you will have a difficult time in most social situations with both men and women.

A lot of artists and "thinkers" are introverts and to the extent that chicks dig creative and intelligent guys that's a big plus. I suspect many of the ECs on TRP are introverts. Blackdragon is, I believe, INTJ and I am INTP and there are too many exceptions to make these sorts of conclusions about introverts.

The behavior of introversion, if taken too far, can make a person appear withdrawn, distant, or even solipsistic. When done right you come off as thoughtful, or a cutting wit, or the strong, silent type.; more sigma than alpha but neither submissive nor unattractive.

It doesn't imply submissiveness, but it does imply lack of dominance. Many (most?) people are neither dominant nor submissive, for example you can have low tolerance for dominant behaviors in others, while having no desire to be dominant yourself. Still others are adaptable and can act either dominant or submissive depending on whether they're the most qualified person to lead in a given situation.

I don't believe in the whole extrovert/introvert concept. People will change back and forth between extrovert and introvert depending on those around them, and thus cannot simply be assigned a label in this way. It has more to do with what you find enjoyable. If you hate sports than you are going to feel exhausted spending a few hours talking sports with sports fans.

There is a difference between between being the "strong silent type" in other words not being too chatty or a crybaby (Someone has to listen while I am talking after all lolol!) and being so monosyllabic that I can't tell what the hell you think or care about. (Don't tell me in too much detail though ok I think we've established that!)

If you are introverted I don't think you are "submissive" I think that there is something most likely defective about you, like say something like the things that are going on in your mind are weird or boring or even worse frightening. Or something bad happened to you while you were growing up or in the recent past. Most people like other people and want to be around them, at least a little bit.

I'm INTJ, female and dominant.

Very introverted and that can be perceived as being "shy" but I wouldn't say I am really, I just don't have anything to say a lot of the time.

I also find extroversion unattractive in other people for the most part.

As an introvert, I find

Most women prefer extroverts to introverts

But it balances out, at least in my case. I don't care for most women.

As for the ones I pick out? Well introverts are just better at one on one conversation. We read little signals better, we have far better thought out ideas on the ready for most topics, we say the right things at the right moments, we're better listeners, etc.

In short, most women prefer extroverts, but most dogs prefer another dog. I've never wanted a dog, what a dog wants doesn't matter.

As for introversion being a sign of submissiveness. The same thing applies. A good one on one conversation is how you squash assumptions. There's no value in talking to a dog.

Quick edit - "Most women" also enjoy an introvert if the introvert puts their disdain aside long enough to humour them.
