We have, as a community, established many examples of injustices to men at the hands of women and, sometimes, other men; custody battles, alimony, rape accusations, and the "disposability" of men are all reasons why men come together to rectify the social and legal disadvantages they face. As a result, we've got the Men's Rights movement, fighting to help men's issues. However, in my experience, there is just one (very large) problem it faces:

No one gives a shit when men complain.

They don't. It doesn't take too many blue pill examples to figure out that there is no faster way for a man to lose the respect of women- and other men- than to start complaining. Our women complain, and they get everything they ask for, like a baby crying for its pacifier. But what happens when men complain? They are ridiculed. They're told to "grow up" and to "act like a man". It doesn't matter if they're right; the simple act of airing a grievance is enough to knock a man down to a caricature of a whining child in the eyes of society.

Men, what have you gotten for yourself by complaining? What do you have now that you earned by throwing a tantrum until someone gave it to you, rather than going out and seizing it for yourself?

I understand that Men's Rights is about more than complaining; really, I do. But I can't conclude that it's anything other than a worthless endeavor. I can't see it getting anywhere. I can't see the utility in a bunch of men getting together and forming a group aimed at elevating status by pointing out inequalities. Men's rights activists cannot fix the problems men face by raising attention. Why? No one gives a shit when men complain.

I am more than open to debate on this topic. I can't imagine why so many educated, realist men would involve themselves in a fruitless movement, so I am willing to consider that the problem lies in my perspective. If so, I'd like a few basic questions answered:

1) Why do you consider yourself a member of the MRA movement?

2) How can this movement be expected to gain what you want it to gain?
