I would like to thank /u/-richard- and the other mods of that subreddit. Not only have you piss off alot people on reddit for basically punishing something the doesn't go against your rules but you have also draw attention to MRA and TRP. Which we here at TRP know when you badmouth something people get curious of what your badmouth and why you're doing it. I say by halloween we'll have over 80,000 subscribers. -Richard- is a good example of a BP bottom feeder afforded any small level of responsibility. There is little principle in his actions as a mod, so of course there is no way to justify it when he fucks up and gets called out on it.

The repercussions for being cast out of a group are more severe for women and BP men like Richard, so their propensity to rationalize bad decisions to themselves and others is far greater. Its quite something watching him hamster the fallout as somehow being the fault of others.

Anyway, I take issue with the numbers in the report:

Police: Table 4 displays the experiences that helpseekers had with the police (n=129)... In 54.9% of cases, the partner was determined to be the primary aggressor. [54.9% of 129 is ~70.8]

Among those 62 men [wait where did 62 come from?], 41.5% [this isn't even a whole number of people, do they mean 41.9%?] said the police asked the helpseeker if he wanted his partner arrested; 21% reported the police refused to arrest the partner, and 38.7% indicated the police said there was nothing they could do and left. [This gives a total of 101.2% assuming these are mutually exclusive]

The coding of the qualitative accounts found that 25.4% of the men told stories of the police doing nothing and ignoring or dismissing them. [Are these distinct to the above? Didn't we already decide that in 38.7% of cases the police said there was nothing they could do?]

Really the numbers don't really show a huge distinction in who was arrested victim (43) or aggressor (35). Other reports have shown that men are just about as likely to be arrested than women. So 'statistically' it really doesn't support the TIL statement (unless you're willing to accept small numbers with small variations).

But, and this is a big but. Men are more likely to be arrested for assault (and later charged), whereas women are more likely to be arrested for disturbing the peace (and then later have the charges dropped). Personally I'd be more interested in the number of women that claim they were attacked but it was just a case of men defending themselves.

Aside from the fact men are less likely to see help, more likely to be ignored when asking for help and more likely to be attacked with a weapon, we'll just dismiss all that because we don't really care about it.

To be honest I think that censorship is bad and the way you mods seem to handle things are on the level. If anything I love this subreddit because the rules are clear, concise, and fair.
