So, I've been coming to TRP on and off for a pretty long time.
I agree with all the basic principles. I feel like the driving force behind TRP and life overall is to pursue your passion and the other things will kind of fall into place. I agree with this.
What if you don't have a passion?
How do you find your passion?
I ask because there in my 26 years I feel like I'm not closer to finding it. I have a business administration degree, which is something I'm not interested in and the job prospects seem awful. I'm not especially talented in much nor am I especially untalented.
I like most things too, I'm just not passionate about anything. Things I like the most: Movies, Music, Art, Books. Yet I don't want to be a critic, writer, painter, actor.
I feel like I'm just always in this grey area.
I'm not even generally super-depressed or anything. I mean I am pretty depressed, but mostly about not having any passion. Not about not getting girls or having enough money or anything like that.
All I really do is just go for 3-6 hours walks. strolls if you will by nice areas by myself. It's the only thing I do that I don't mind.
I'm not really a pessimist or an optimist.
My "drive" sexual or otherwise is normal to high. I say this because I feel like I'm painting myself as this bland eunuch or something.
I just wish I could find something I really really liked. Like even if it was just a side thing that made everything else bearable. I mean ideally it'd be great to make my professional life be the thing or one of the things I really love, but if even just a hobby I really like to make the job I hate worth it.
I usually am not quick to anger, usually I only get angry when I hear people just say things like it's as simple as bending over and picking something up like "Just get more sleep" or "Just do what you love".
If I could I would, I just don't know how.
I've worked various places, volunteered, got girls, nothing really fills me with that core joy a passion can give you.
I'm probably just a naturally existential person and this type of predisposition to feeling like this will likely always be there, but I certainly would like to think I could compartmentalize it and find something that makes me "happy".
Sorry if this comes off as bitter, maybe I am at least a little bit, well ok yea I am, but certainly not my intention to come off super whiny.
Thanks for reading, sorry if it was long/boring. I just wanted to be as honest as possible as people on this sub are refreshingly honest, which is one of my favorite aspects about this sub.
tl;dr Bored with my life, not really passionate about anything despite a wide breadth of interests. Wondering if anyone had any insight into what I could or should do, or if anyone else felt like this, but got over it. How'd you do it?
