Had a comment theard today about a guy being shamed at work for being too emotional and there were actually ppl claiming that's misogyny, because he was shamed for being feminine.

That take is so dumb, I just can't.

As if they would call saying a tomboy is being too manly misandry. No, then it's misogyny, because she is not fitting the female role expectation of being feminine, but if it happens to a man, just mirrored, it's still misogyny in their minds

They always bend over backwards and jump through 10 flaming hoops, just to pretend it's actually not misandry. And when they run out of arguments, it's just the patriarchy, without defining what they even mean by patriarchy.

While it would be foolish to believe that those arguments are never made, and some are just short sighted, it's disingenuous to portray those as the only issues anyone has with modern feminism. No reasonable person is against the general idea behind feminism, meaning equal rights for women. The problem is when it gets to the point of demonizing all men, putting women above men, expecting special treatment over men, and overall treating men like garbage. This has become far, far too acceptable in modern discourse, and the argument that misandry doesn't exist or is only a byproduct of misogyny, is complete bullshit. Equality, yes, man hating, no.

The proof there isn't a "Patriarchy" is that feminists can spew all this nonsense and people actually listen. No one stops them from saying all this gibberish. Feminism long ago lost the plot and ran out of issues to address in the West, which is why they keep expanding the umbrella of "allies": Trans, gays, black women, Muslims, etc.

Feminism has devolved into pure Ideological Protectionism here, mainly for white female grievance.

I was like “oh this isn’t that bad” until I got to “believe that women who are victimized deserve it.” ??????????????? That’s 100% a non sequitur. Where are they getting that? Saying “who hurt you” is maybe a little rude when someone is crashing out yeah, but it’s because of the implication that they’re showing their trauma in an unflattering way. It’s rhetorical. It’s not like, asking fr in order to then victim blame? 😅

ETA every slide of this is just misunderstanding the common intent behind flippant everyday phrases. As a chronic overthinker and PTSD hypervigilance haver, it is literally not that deep

Each one of four milliards men in the world, from newborn baby boys to withered old gramps? Obviously no. She just gives a simple explanation to a complex issue, but the explanation is not correct. The further is absolutely irrelated to the question, and not correct too: most women are not victimized.

When a man abandons his child, it's his fault.

In most cases it's fault of those who've made him a father without asking him if he wants to be a father. In pro-life states it's governtment, and in pro-choice states it's the mother.

No, it's a response to generalizations about men feminists often do. Nobody equalize hating violence and hating men besides feminists. Also it's pointless to request that men stop raping women. Men who don't rape women already don't rape women, and men who do rape women don't care about any requests.

"Men" didn't hurt her. Some shitty men (maybe even many) hurt her, but 'men' as a monolith didn't. I didn't. My brother and father and friends didn't.

It's moral to push back against holding an entire group accountable for the actions of some of that group (the very definition of bigotry). I suspect the 'sexist' men who argue with her are just trying (unsuccessfully) to explain logic to her.

We can have sympathy for victims, but not bigots.
