So we are a ways out from Christmas, but it is a good time to start coming up with Christmas present ideas, especially if you are planning some type of get away. Keeping in mind that the best Christmas gifts for your wife (or really any type of gift for her) are ones that involve both of you and not just her, what are some of your ideas and plans for Christmas gifts? (Yes we already know about Skittles.) Here are some ideas to prime the discussion:

  • Night out on the town and a hotel room.
  • Vacation get away for the weekend, just the two of you.
  • A book on travel destinations. The New York beta Times has a series of books called 36 Hours, which is a compilation of [these columns] (http://www.nytimes.com/column/36-hours).
  • Various board games for the two of you.

Anyway you get the idea. All your gifts to her should be ones that involve the two of you, and not just things for her alone.
