Escalation is one of the hardest parts of pick-up, especially kino. It's natural that you have issues with it. Humans value their personal space and you worrying about invading that shows that you are capable of empathy to your fellow human beings.

The basic rule of kino is that women want to be touched by men they are attracted to and find men attractive who take charge, so you should always touch her as much as she wants. If you don't escalate when she wants it, she will brand you as boring or timid. Oh, but how to tell what she wants? You "simply" have to on the watch for cues, the so-called indicators of interest. That's much easier said then done and you will have to learn this skill by experience. Look up common IOIs on the internet, learn to read them and then just escalate every time you see a good sign and back off every time she gives you a sign of discomfort. After a few attempts with different women you will have learned to calibrate to those signals.

I realize this isn't very immediately helpful advise but it is how you solve this issue in the long run.

If I notice a girl has tattoos I make out interest in them, its a pretty good low level sexual topic, and you can apply some kino holding arms shoulders legs wherever the ink is really :)

This is my first post on the seduction subreddit but this is a topic that i feel the need to post because it's something that I struggled with when i first started seduction. In my opinion you should kino form the very first interaction. When you walk up to a girl smile keep eye contact and as you say hello or introduce yourself place your hand gently on the outside of her shoulder. This gives off confidence and lets the girl know that you find nothing strange or awkward about bodily contact and helps her fell comfortable. Kino is an essential part of seduction but if you over use it you can come across creepy. You will learn to know when to use it because when it feels right kino it usually is. If you cant determine when to use it try doing it playfully. you can tip her opposite shoulder and when she turns the opposite way place your hand on her arm. you can also ask to see her hand and when she gives it you can spin her. a nice one i use to escalate quickly is when im in a set all sitting down (or standing) when i get up to go to the bar i place my hand on her lower back (this works too if your standing as you are walking by her place your hand on her lower back) for a couple of seconds as im getting up. when you come back keep the interaction going and escalate slowly using kino. Just start using kino everywhere, I don't mean as in try to escalate on people you meet but little things. Give handshake's to everyone you meet, pat someone on the shoulder when they make a good joke, give someone a joking punch on their arm when you're busting their balls, hug friends goodbye. Touch is a very strong tool can use when communicating, so start incorporating it in your everyday live. Sure you're still going to have some awkward moments when doing this put that's part of learning and this way you get way more reference experience then when you're just with girls. a simple high five, hug, light pats, light push, shoulder to shoulder touching, legs/thigh touch while sitting down, twirling her around, complement on her nail color while holding her hands, leading her in a store with your hand behind her lower back, her sitting on your lap after initial contact....so many ways of kino but the best advice is to practice and eventually it will be less awkward and more autonomic. You'll get it. Don't give up!

Well, if it is a second encounter, I like to go right in for a hug. If I'm feeling good I'll put on the 'Excited puppy dog,' greeting, pick her up and swing her around, and start the date off with a lot of energy. That way, she has to pick hers up to meet yours, and you don't have to worry about any lulls if you meet somewhere in the middle.

A good place to start on a first encounter is thumb wrestling. Waiting in line for movie tickets? Thumb wrestle. Bonus points for playfulness over competitiveness; ie. obviously cheat by using both hands to pin her thumb. When she loses she will say, 'You can't do that! You cheated!' You will say (anything you want because she is smiling and laughing, and it doesn't matter what you say as long as you own it) 'I have no idea what you are talking about.'

From there, you can give her a hug 'to make her feel better,' or push her shoulder playfully depending on whether you need to build rapport, or give her room to chase you.

Then again... that just works for me.
