Follow-up from this post.

I gathered up more courage than I thought available to run in and ask her out. She bent over and started laughing, but explained that I was the third person to ask her out that very day. I told her that it made no difference to me. She said it was probably because she was "friendly" and "sharp", which is very true and probably the reason why I thought she was vibing me in the first place.

She gave me her number, but explained that I should not expect anything romantic and that she can be a good friend. I kept saying "who knows.." and other things that I don't remember because it was a nervous haze but I trust myself and said some witty things too that made her laugh and extend her gaze.

We have on-going conversations, and a nice rapport so I definitely feel comfortable with her. However, honestly seddit, this is the first real confident girl I've worked on. I would guess her to be an HB9, based on how easy it is to approach her but an HB10 in terms of how difficult it would be to actually attract her.

This put me in a default state of damage control, where I just tried to ask her out above all means. I may have skipped the "attraction" step, so I am just unsure of where to go from here. I can't help but place her on the pedestal in my mind, so I have to get that thought under control.

I followed David Wygant's advice of keeping momentum and texting her soon after. I sent something over about something I just bought from her today, and connected it to something she mentioned before about why she doesn't eat it. No response, yet. Whatever.

Either way, I am immensely proud of myself for asking her out. I've reached a milestone today. Thank you, seddit!
