"maybe doesn't work for me. if you're only maybe coming then I'll invite another girl as my date" honest and plays on jealousy and abundance

What is happening in the comments. She's not being random with the "I have a boyfriend". He was hitting on her. She told him she wasn't available. This isn't a shit test. OP was displaying enough intent for her to realise he's hitting on her, which is a good thing. She is not wasting anyone's time, which is a good thing. (Disclaimer: "I have a boyfriend" does not technically mean she's not going to hook up with you, but this is very rare, and she will give you other kinds of signals.)

Just trying to point out how absurd your fears are. Go approach girls, mate :)

Well you don't have to worry about the whole getting married scenario happening if you don't approach anyone ever.

Hug. Or three kisses. Or whatever you usually do where you live.

His answer was constructive. OP messed up and tried to blame it on the girl ("Perhaps she mistook me for someone else"). Bravo pointed out that OP was acting weirdly and that's why the girl freaked out.

OP said: I am very much a "nerdy" kind of guy at heart and growing up did not have much success with women, it just never really came naturally to me. Nerdy in that context often means that you developed much more of your logical self than your emotional self.
/r/seduction27/01/16 09:29 AM

Put effort into developing your emotional side. You have to train it, especially if you grew up nerdy. I just feel inadequate and really terrible whenever I hear these things. Partly because of my fear of not measuring up to her previous partners, but also the possibility that she sees me as a "safe" option and does not truly lust after me. I know all of this is really my own insecurities but I just can't shake it. I like that you are analyzing what you're doing. Now for every negative emotion t…

Great post, thank you. I think too often men confuse this and think that women want romance or to be made to feel special before sex. When actually what they simply want is for their body to have time and stimulation to get physically aroused. Also a cool statement.

I have to try to hide the fact that I have no friends from girls I'm seeing so that I don't look like a loser Don't do that. This is the one thing that stuck out to me from your post. Also, if it bothers you that you don't have friends, here's how to get friends: Don't be embarassed about not having friends. Go to a few places regularly. Any hobby, a bar, the gym. Have fun. Don't worry about making friends. But talk to people. After a while you're part of the crew. Congratulations, these people …

A girl makes a connection with 10 guys in one night? Do you make a connection with 10 girls in one night? You seem to have vastly different experiences. Or you don't mean the same thing with connection as me. Oh well, good luck out there!
/r/seduction19/01/16 03:43 PM

Sure I may talk to 100 girls that night. And sure she gets approached by 100 guys. But the one girl that I do text or do end up sleeping with is the one that was actually compatible and we made somewhat of a connection. It makes life and pickup a lot easier if you like the girls you do stuff with. Choose the ones you make a connection with. And those are the ones who obviously have no trouble remembering you.

So wait. Instead of using the date to find out whether or not you like her enough for a second date, you're planning ahead for the second date before the first one? That's kind of a bad attitude. Just enjoy the date. Find out if you're compatible. If you like each other, then it will be no problem to set up a second date. And if you don't, then why would you want to have another date. Also, if this is about sex (this is still seddit after all), then plan on having sex on the first date and don't…

Really? This feels like a /r/lewronggeneration post. I remember canned openers. "Field tested" strategies. People "transitioning" "smoothly" from opener to mid-game to closing. Even more bragging. A lot of stories that I'm very sure never happened. We're starting to teach people to be normal. That's a good thing. People starting out here, slightly weird people with medium confidence, can't go from not talking to a girl to pulling out your dick in front of her as a strategy. Anyway, as always the…

Go watch a bunch of romantic movies to get some ideas. But don't assume things should be perfect. I'm planning to use some of the techniques here such as "wait" at some point during the date to get a kiss. Kiss her when you feel you want to kiss her. Don't wait for the right moment. There is no right moment. Make sure though she can kinda expect it. Looking at her lips and/or physical contact. Don't worry too much about it. Everyone has their firsts. It never goes perfect. Quickly read through the comments and they seem kinda unhelpful. I suggest you try to conditition yourself. For example if you always masturbate exactly in the same spot and the same way, then you will learn to easily get an erection and cum doing that. If you now need to get an erection in a whole different place, in a different position, with a new girl your body hasn't learned to do that consistently. Suggestions: Try masturbating in different places, thinking about real-world scenarios. If y…

Here is a common occurrence: you get a woman’s number, you text back and forth, you go on the first date, then you text her and never hear back. You text again and still no response. Looks like your dates aren't going well. On the topic of texting: I have no time to come up with funny and playful texts every 24 hours. Personally I just don't have monogamous relationships at the moment. No idea, have you thought about telling your girl about this issue? How jealous do you get? Could you imaging some kind of open relationship? Maybe she also doesn't like some limitations of the current relationship. But yeah, as always, talk to your girl about stuff. Nothing bad ever came from this. But make sure you kinda know what you want or what could work for you, before you talk to her about this.

Don't let it affect your confidence. Go to a dermatologist and try to get rid of it. Aside from the fact that this will be good for your skin in the future, it will also impact your thinking now. Because acne is part of you at this point and there's nothing you can do about it right now, so you better own it, but at the same time you're also taking action, so if you're treating it there's nothing else you can do at the moment. Cool article. I liked the bit about girls taking responsibility for guys liking them or not. Edit: While generally, I believe that you have to act in order to maintain attraction, I don't think in has an expiration date per se. You just have to do your part to keep the attraction alive. This is also especially important after you've slept with a girl, e.g. dating or you just want to keep seeing her.

Yeah but it's along the lines of "fake it till you make it". I know I'd be alarmed if a girl tells me she's in love with me out of the blue and probably want to get some distance. Now picture this from the girls point of view. She's attracted to OP, but some ground rules have been set up (stay friends). You can't go all 'I love you' now. It's incongruent, it's needy, and it will freak her out. Answer above is correct: keep hooking up and see where it goes. The thing is that, I cannot get her out…

Couple small conversations? Good enough. It's not creepy if you add her. It's a little weird (of course depending on how she perceived you when you talked) if you try to get to know her and try to create a connection between the two of you in a facebook conversion. I suggest you try and chat her up instead, especially if you want to get involved romatically with her.

Don't do it. This can end somewhere between awkward for the rest of the tutorial sessions to having an impact on your career. At least successfully ask a few other girls out first. From my experience, you can't be in control with crazy girls like them. Hell, you're almost never in control really. Enjoy the ride. You said you had fun, didn't you? This. Basically, your GF (or whoever) should know that you speak your mind and you're not afraid of saying the truth to avoid some sort of reaction from her. Hey man, you seem to have a good understanding of your situation and I think you're off to a good start and should improve rather fast. That's my prediction. Anyway, good luck :) Oh, and yeah, what I think will be your missing piece (because it wasn't in the post): Don't be afraid to push boundaries and do things you aren't sure if they are socially acceptable. You can get away with a lot more than you think. In the beginning you will have to fake your confidence in that what you're doing is oka…

Hey HappyJerk. Very interesting and well written post, I must say. I've seen your name around a couple of times and didn't always agree with your posts, iirc. But this one was spot on and it was cool to see you talk analytically about your experiences. I know this advice won’t help most of you. This is probably true, but posts like these are the reason I still read this subreddit; the ones that allow me to reflect upon my experiences with a little bit of external input that can emphasize on why …

Here are your options: Easy way: Let it go. She's obviously not that into you. Why put so much effort into this? Lame way: Ask the regular bar-goer who they were talking about. This may give you some insight or closure. Aggressive way: Make a 'stronger' move. Be aware that she is your co-worker and if things go badly this might/will affect your job. I recommend option 1.

You can circumvent this to a certain degree. Adam Lyons e.g. suggested that you should make it seem like you know each other and she will play along because of the connection you made before you approached. Go over to the table, say "heey, how have you been" and be charming. Sure you have worse chances than in other situations or have to play it very well, but personally I like a challenge every now and then. And yeah, I had the situation with the protective guys. A lot of the times it doesn't w…

Imo she was inviting him to talk to her. Families being present doesn't make this easy and of course adds additional pressure, because everyone could possibly see you fail. But by taking small steps, I think this is not that difficult. Like, mouthing "hi" when she looks at you. If she reacts positively, you can later go introduce yourself to her at her table and you know you'll get a good reaction from her.
/r/seduction04/01/14 07:03 PM

Imo no talking about this until things are more serious. She will only rationalize how this is a bad idea and then as soon as it's spoken out it's much worse than if it's just kind of a feeling.

You can ask them what they thought of the show, if you don't really care about the answer. Give out an energetic vibe but also let them feel that they have to say it was good. Or if they don't tease them about it. It's just a conversation starter. But yeah, don't go seriously ask for their opinion.

Lightly touch her arm with your hand. Lightly bump your shoulder into her shoulder. Whatever. It should seem natural, though. Usually you do this as part of a response. Like when you're laughing at something she says. There are guides, books, videos. Go look it up.

Imagine yourself doing your usual busy day stuff. A cute girl comes up and talks to you. Guess you weren't that busy after all, huh? Aside from that, I'd like to get some input or analysis regarding what the difference between day and night approaches are I guess it's like you said. During the day, people are busy. During the night, not so much. But most girls would probably still take their time to talk to you, if you seem nice.

You're in a new city, you have all the excuses to talk to people. When you see interesting looking people, ask them where they're going. Ask them to show you a nice place or to take you with them. Apart from this, you can mention the fact that you're just here for a few days and you don't know anybody early in the conversation (with a girl or anyone) and it will establish that you have a reason for being out alone. It's also somewhat of a time constraint, which is a good thing. GO TALK TO PEOPLE…

No offense, dude. Just wanted to add my opinion for other people, before they mindlessly use it. Not caring so much is generally a good idea, but if you wanna get good at this you have to get an understanding of what goes inside people's minds. Since she suggested rescheduling, I would assume she wants to see you but something really came up. "I'll leave it up to you to reschedule our date!" Personally I wouldn't advise doing this. I think it's kind of established that guys are going to be organising shit and making decisions and the girl just says yes or no. At least initially. Umm, the pulling emergency brake was something good in the beginning (forcing yourself out of your comfort zone, acting on an impulse) and towards the end it was a bad thing (you're stopping yourself from acting on an impulse)? Overall a good message, didn't like the talk that much. TL;DR if you don't like to waste your time: You should go after what you want. You will never feel like doing it -- there's some initial energy required -- but do it anyway.

It's pretty easy to explain. She had a higher level mindset (e.g. 'my boyfriend dumped me/this guy I like is unavailable and OP really likes me, so why not give it a shot, although I'm not really that into him' -- not necessarily this, but I think you get the idea of what I mean by 'higher level mindset') that she obviously didn't share with you, while letting all other emotions through. Nah. OP wasn't high on the girl's priority list before the date, but she still went to see him. If she takes the time to actually meet him, then she at least considers the option that the date might be worthwhile. i asked her if there was one thing I could change, what would it be? While it can be a good idea to ask a girl what you could've done differently, don't weight anything she says too much. What do you when you're always the only one carrying the conversation? Stop talking? She'll either speak or she won't. Resist the need to fill awkward silences in order to make her feel comfortable. The Nick Sparks video t_Lancer posted is alright. He's not the greatest analyst; what he says goes in the right direction, but I think he lacks deeper psychological understanding of what is going on.

The 3 second rule doesn't really allow me to think of anything especially clever. You don't have to come up with something clever, you just gotta talk to the girl. That's the idea ;) So maybe a small amount of peacocking would help this? I feel like in day game a justification might make getting the # a little easier Well, maybe. At the cost of attraction. I mean, if you say you're gonna throw a party and you'll text her when/where, that sounds nice. But on the other side you can be the guy who has the balls to directly ask for her number, without feeling he has to give any sort of justification. Isn't that much more attractive? I'd rather have a little fewer numbers, but a higher success rate with the girls I text. Your choice.

Let me rephrase: Don't have awkward moments. It's only awkward if you let it be awkward. And your goal should not be to recover, but to never get into this situation in the first place.

Meet people at the bar. Meet people standing around smoking areas or outside. Just go up to anyone that doesn't look like she's really enjoying the music and only wants to dance, say something, move her somewhere more quiet. Then do what you usually do. All I could do was grab a table with her, chat about stuff we had in common, and then subsequently lose her in the club shuffle. Don't try to only hang out with her. Let her do things, have fun yourself, move around a lot, meet a lot of people...…

Not with my friends, but alone. I will purposely sarge women in front of them In front of your friends that you don't bring? Anyway, don't try to force your change on them. You're free to change, you're free to talk to women in the bar, but don't expect your friends to change as well. I'd assume they'd perfectly well accept if you're all of a sudden doing better with women. They might even want to change themselves after seeing you suceed. But don't try to force your friends to change.

If girls take my game the wrong way Well, if your game can be taken the wrong way, you might be doing something wrong. It's perfectly reasonable to be direct as a man, especially at a party. If a girl isn't interested in you, she'll probably still be flattered or whatever. At least she's not gonna hate you. they may not come back to the parties You're the host? How are you having problems :)

So yeah, no more likes at six in the morning for me. That's what you're taking out of this? She's chatting you up, that's a good thing. Make something out of it. But don't defend yourself when there's no reason for it.

Add onto this that I went to buy shoes and asked for a size 7 only to be told that I would need to look in the kids section. This completely destroyed me emotionally and socially and I knew I was probably out for the count. Go watch the Sex and the City episode where Samantha dates a really short man who shops at the Boy's Department! I think flying solo might not be a bad idea if you think your friends are much better looking and much more confident. But this is mostly in your head. If I was st…

Yes, indirect is easier than direct, but it's also less rewarding. Didn't really read the rest of the post because of horrible formatting. Congratulations on getting out there and trying, though.

You seem like you've got this figured out pretty well. I'd try to avoid boring questions. If you hear what they're talking about and you feel like you've got something to add, that's awesome, but just go for it... no "sorry, I couldn't help but overhear". Otherwise say "Hey", hold the tension a bit, and then say anything. Weirder is better, if you can pull it off.

She has a BF and it's a girl from work. This doesn't sound like trouble at all. This being said... I don't recommend kissing her at all before you're actually alone with her in a room where the magic is going to happen. If anything it'll be weird and/or reduces sexual tension. "Hey, wanna fuck?" - "Sure." - kiss. That's just weird. Why don't you invite her to your place? I usually don't talk about sex and just assume it's going to happen. Especially if she has a BF. So no answer from me here. I …

Haha, no, don't do that. I think the message here, in a nutshell, is the same as always: assume attraction. Basically, in this scenario Ted is way more confident than usual and he's especially not doubting whether the girl actually wants to "go upstairs". He assumes it's acceptable for him to make this decision for both of them. If you're having a good time with a girl, assume she wants you to escalate. Especially learn to read reactions well and get a ton of experience. It'll all become very na…

Maybe I should've put more focus on shows like Sex and the City. I think they do an excellent job and target a broad audience. Sure, I don't mean this to be a substitute for real-world practice. But the key moments of an interaction usually happens while nobody else is watching or paying attention. Learning starts with copying. How is a beginner supposed to copy any behavior, if he's not actually present to watch what's going on? How is a beginner supposed to know, how these interactions really …

Remember the episode, where Barney sets Ted up with a "prostitute" who turned out to actually be a paralegal? Ted was unusually confident, because he thought she was a prostitute, and even though he "moved fast", it felt natural and the girl played along. As pointed out by Barney later. But yeah. Don't be a Ted, most of the time. :)
