My point is that it's deeper than that. Why are we assuming the engineer is to blame at all? The engineer may be completely faultless. If the construction crew misunderstood plans to leave cribbing under the span because the cables weren't in place and they didn't, it's not really the engineers fault.

I know all the theory, probably better than most. I know both sides of the advice: the pick-up angle and the 'get a hobby and meet people that way' angle. I'm gonna be Donny Downer here, at least in regards to myself. This is great advice. I enjoyed the post, but at the same time, you're talking hundreds of dollars (more likely $1000+) worth of clothing. The word sarge is reminiscent of the word sargeant. By shortening a military term and using that as the term to describe going out and looking for girls, the activity is framed in the terms of warfare. I agree. Honestly, you're getting replies despite your emails, imo. Your profile and photos must be very very good. EDIT: I sure wish some of these tips worked for me. I'm a complete AFC, but here's what I've learned from giving OKC a pretty good go: it's a numbers game, at best. I'd be happy if I got a 1% reply rate. Some people claim much better results, and I'm sure I could do better. Good photos, mysterious text and interesting emails seem to be the key. Not one I've learned how to use yet, unfortunately.

I'm really new to reddit and even newer to this section. So, FWIW: You didn't mention his age, but my thought on this topic (and I'm a complete AFC) is that my life would be completely different if I'd had somebody to steer me in the right direction in high school or early in college. Not to make me a mPUA, but to show me that there were skills that could be developed that would help me be more than I was/am. It's good karma for you anyway, if you believe in that sort of thing.
