Correct. This is the difference if single versus multi party recording consent. If you're in a single party state only one person needs to know that a recording is happening to make it legal. For what it's worth even in Cali if you never intend to publish a recording all recording is legal. Consent laws come into play if you want to use the recording in court or publish it
