Someday, the president will start acting like the president and not keep pretending he's a common folk guy who doesn't want to bother anyone with questions.

Seriously, I do like Obama (which I wouldn't be saying if I thought he was actually serious with his 77c stuff), but his "I'm an ordinary guy just like you" is so... namby pamby compared to Clinton and Bush's "I'm the boss of the country, now let's get stuff done!"

Because I refuse to believe that only one group or class of people has problems I went searching for problems women face. I found a Ms Magazine article (if anyone knows the troubles women face it should be them.) They made a list of 10 problems and women having to pay more for haircuts was in the top 10 problems women face. I am sorry but if that is one of your 10 you must really be scraping the bottom of the barrel to find problems and your group must be pretty darn privileged.

Well look. If dry cleaners are charging more to women because fuck em, then obviously that's unacceptable. If dry cleaners are charging more to clean items typically worn by women because the process of cleaning this items costs more, well that's unfortunate but tough shit - the price reflects the service rendered, not the customer it is for. If you can't accept that, break that gender role and wear different clothes if you so choose.

I'm pretty sure I heard an advertisement on the radio the other day for a cleaners that did a flat rate per garment. I don't have a clue how dry cleaning works and have never taken anything to get it done, so I have no idea what would make labor or material costs vary for the businesses. However, if one business is doing it, it may be viable/profitable to just charge by how many items are being done.

Edit: Apparently they're charging $2 per garment. For those who are interested this is Zips in the DC area.

For me - I am sorry for making this analogy - Feminism is like Aids, while common sense is the imune system. Bear with me: I know that this analogy is bad, and I don't want to shame peope who have aids or something. I just try to put, what I want to say, in a shape, so that I am able to express myself.

When Feminism is involved, common sense loses all its power. The gender-wage gap. The whole "rape-culture" thing, THIS stupidity about Drycleaners. NO OTHER GROUP could get away with sooooo much stupidity that would be soooooo easily revealed as either not right, totally wrong, or straight out lied.

But when feminism is involved, it seems, nobody even WANTS to reveal the lies. Its like 1984, when we really start to believe in lies and make them truths - also we KNOW, that they are lies.

Really - I dont hate feminism because I hate women, but I REALLY start having a problem with women, because of feminism. Because it - and i am not kidding you - causes me physical pain, when I read things like these.
