I think the more frustrating double standard is the idea that men can talk about sex freely, while women are shamed; because, reality is the exact opposite.

It seems to me that the foundation upon which this type of stuff is built is a simple difference in attitude; men care about respect as a concept, women care about receiving respect as individuals.

Man here and I don't share many things because there is a jealous factor that plays in. If I am telling my friends that I have anal almost every time I have sex they get jealous and start to not believe you. It turns in to a who has the bigger penis story. I can't help thinking that a guy that doesn't want to talk about that stuff has bought into the "every girl is a special princess" crap that modern romantic comedies spoon feed kids. Like "oh my God she's so special, I could never talk about her naked body or the dirty things she does at night".

I mean, it only really becomes possibly a big deal if a guy talks about that stuff when it's his wife or serious long-term partner. If it's just a girlfriend, I mean, c'mon, it's not that big a deal.

Personally I don't see this double standard in my own life. I and my friends talk pretty openly about the women we're with. But I guess some of my friends are a little quieter about such things for the most part. I guess you could say the "alpha" types are more open about that stuff while the "beta" types are less so. I can't help but this is really just an example of putting women on a pedestal, which lots of MRAs talk about as being the bad thing it is.

I would say that as a man I would never have a serious relationship with a woman who gossiped like that to her girlfriends. It shows a lack of respect.
