They should be. Our government has made women and minorities much harder to fire than straight white men, and as such you need to be damn sure you are getting a quality applicant because if you aren't you're stuck with them.

As for the other comments, they'are just blatant bullshit/self-insults.

I mean, really. If "your son" is the failing, perhaps that speaks to your ability as a parent?

Oh boy, here we go again.

His story about his son and daughter is absolutely ridiculous. How is the behaviour of teenagers linked to women being unable to become CEOs? The only thing he was able to put in evidence is that the way of socializing of boys and girls are very different, and that women are more affected by the perception of others. How he made the jump from that to being a good company leader is still something I am trying to figure out.

Then we get this:

Words, thoughts and important points are missed because of a new perfume or a low cut blouse.

Then don't come to work dressed up and painted up like you would be at a club! Again, a really incredible leap of logic: women dressing sexy and getting the attention of men is agains somehow men's fault.

They have to appear to be embarrassed by that YouTube video. They could never comment on the looks of a fellow co-worker. They shouldn’t be talking about how many beers they consumed the night before. Men can do all of this with ease and not be judged by their bosses. Women cannot.

I call utter bullshit on this one. The most respected female coworker I had were respected for the very reason that they acted like men, and joined them at the bar. There is a workplace culture alright, but everyone has to enter it if they want to succeed, both men and women.

How this guy has any success in tech, I don't know. Most of the time, you need sound logic skills. Oh wait:

Men are still trying to take women seriously in the workplace. But most haven’t progressed beyond the maturity level of my teenage son and his friends.

There is nothing to suggest in his son's behaviour that he doesn't take women seriously. If anything, his and his friends don't take life seriously (and they're kids, they shouldn't be). But here's my own experience of how women are perceived in a very successful tech company:

I've interned in such a place. Immediately, I've seen the following: there were quite a few women among employees, and quite a few women among interns. But I've met no full-time employee in an engineering position. None. They were receptionists, HR people, hiring managers, project managers (i.e. they knew project scheduling but were not technical people) and of course support staff. Discrimination, isn't it? Well, you tell me: about 20% to 30% of the interns were girls. These were technical internships, not PM or HR internships. Yet I didn't see them being taken for a full time position. Was the company taking girls for internships to give the impression of equality but discriminating against them for full time? Or is it more probable that the company was hiring interns based on what they perceived to be the best qualification, and then hired only the ones that performed satisfactorily, and the girls were just not good enough? Well, I've had the opportunity to watch the end-of-internship presentations of all the people in my division. I may be biased, but others also judged that quite a few had awful presentations, and out of them, most were girls. Out of the people who had outstanding presentations, no girls. It might all be a huge conspiracy, but one one girl could barely understand what encryption is, and another went 20 minutes over the allocated time, and ended her presentation with "I've learned that security is really cool and fun!", you start questioning the claim that women can do everything that men can, and then be better at it. I've come to undersand why that company was successful: there are no incompetent people. Everyone who works there is completely on top of their game, including the women in HR and PM. Really, I've never met someone as efficient as my hiring manager, and someone with the personal and management skills of my PM. And both of them were women. But for strict engineering work, there are simply no amazing female candidates.

I read the first page and decided that this was probably the dumbest thing I've read today. Like 40 years of feminist influence on society hasn't had any effect... If anything this article shows how sexist the author is for once again putting hypothetical woman ahead as the protected gender. As other commenters have noted most men will not become CEOs. Who's to even say that's a position that all men or women want? Hey, sorry guy that there aren't enough women CEOs in Fortune 500 companies for you to be comfortable. Dems' the breaks. Life doesn't conform to your notions of gender equality. Sometimes there are going to be more men then women in a position, and vice-versa. Want workplace equality? Convince women to work dangerous jobs.

Why is it always sexism? What the fuck? It's ridiculous that in this day and age we are still treating gender differences like they're inherently wrong and not simply that - differences.

Why do we teach kids that they're unique and could be anything in the future and then completely turn that on its head and call sexism/racism/etc on anything that highlights it?

Funny the author thought "Women are held to a much higher standard" when studies show that men are actually held to a much higher standard of competency, and their mistakes are much more damaging to their reputation. Who needs the truth as long as you can just make up whatever you want though?
