And, frankly, the notion that 'this wouldn't happen to a girl' is utterly ridiculous in the circumstances. Not only would it likely cause the same level of outrage (read: quite a bit - she's been detained), but also, this is a country that suffers from a huge amount of silent crimes against women, like 'importing' huge groups of mail-order women from overseas to satisfy the gender deficiency in women in the country.
