The article sucks, but only because it's poorly written and a little dumb in general. Nevermind the man / woman argument, this lady just reinforces the well-known fact that in any given white collar business, people in management are sometimes morons that honestly believe they contribute to the company simply by existing.

This was a terribly written article with poor direction and lack of common reasoning skills.

When women use the key words 'we' or 'let’s' in a sentence such as in: ‘It would be great if we got out the quarterly report before Friday', we don’t mean us, we really mean YOU! ---So you are both lazy and a liar. Equality means that if you use the word “we,” both parties need to take on their fair share of the work.

If a woman starts a sentence with ‘I feel’, she is attempting to communicate on a deeper level or has momentarily forgotten that she is speaking with the opposite sex. Either way she’s putting herself out there and you should sit up and look perky. ---Wow, way to ignore the fact that men also are capable of feeling. Marisa, I feel like you are being a self centered whiner, please try to look more perky when I say that.

When we ask you to ‘keep us posted’ please don't make us hunt you down for the follow-up. It’s understood that you have a two hour window to work with my man. ---Since when was this a gender problem? This is a people are generally slackers problem. In my personal experiences, women are worse at “keeping us posted,” and the first ones to make extensive excuses for why they didn’t do so.

Let’s curb big words like bifurcation or scaring us with your twisted VLOOKUP Excel formulas. We’re financial people too and this (you guessed!) doth not impress. --- If you’re financial people too, I would have thought you would know the vocabulary of the field. ~~Sorry~~ for treating you like an educated professional.

Overuse of catch phrases such as ‘let’s not try to boil the ocean’ or ‘let’s get the view from 30,000 feet’ (well, stay on the airplane buddy) have run stale and we don’t need you chirping them at us in meetings to sound trendy. --- 1. I’ve never even heard either of those phrases. 2. Women have “catch phrases too.”

Should we ever slip up in a weak moment and dare utter the words 'I’m sorry', do a mental rewind and pretend you never heard it - for your own good. --- So, when you say “I’m sorry” you don’t actual mean it? Liar strike two. I’ll be sure to ignore it henceforth, especially in phrases like “I’m sorry for costing the company X amount of money for my error, please don’t fire me.”

Popping over to our desk with a smile and asking 'How busy are you ?' leaves us no wiggle room to tell you to hit the road. Try pinging us on IM chat first so we have a moment to compose and act like we’re taking you seriously. --- So, men have to “perk up” when you have feelings, but when men try to be friendly, you get to “pretend” to care? How equal. Also, I’m so ~~sorry~~ that you cannot accept a coworker trying to build amicable relationships and -gasp- empathize with your work load. We should all just go feudal warlord style on each other, since it’s not like, you know, we spend most of our waking hours together or anything.

Branding women with new tags such as ‘Priscilla’ (a drama queen) will not fly. Don’t let us hear it drop from your lips when b** ching about us in the kitchen. --- Flip and reverse. Why don’t women stop forming cliques and bashing everyone in the office?

I've worked with women like her at 2 different law firms. Both were in the position they were, because the partners knew that a discrimination/sexual harrassment lawsuit would be quick in the filing. The were just doing what they could not to piss her off.

I get the feeling this lady was promoted for the same reason. She really doesn't know what she's doing, and they promoted her to get her out of the way.

Look women, if this isw true:

The stop asking me to help you solve problems that require a different formula other than vlookup.

Believe it or not, sumif and vlookup are not the only formulas available in Excel. Knowing simple formulas doth not get thy job done because after all, we are in finance and often face complex data sets.
