Sorry, but 'men' don't need to do anything.

My gender isn't to blame for the excesses of some bastards any more than 'women' bear the blame for my crazy ex. Likewise, honest people aren't to blame for the liars.

Rapists are the ones who should stop. Sexists need to stop. So do bigots. Etc.

To Jackson Katz:

I was born male. It wasn't a choice I made.

By virtue of being born male, I did not become responsible for other people who were also born male.

I have no control over other people who were born male, any more than I have control over anyone not born male.

I am responsible for me, and that's a sufficiently difficult task.

I do not share the guilt of a wrongdoer even if he has a penis, unless I participated in the wrongdoing.

Likewise, I can't lay claim to quarterbacking my favorite NFL team to a Super Bowl victory or for inventing the printing press or for writing Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, even though those things were also done by penis-bearing human beings.

If you feel guilty, sorry, or ashamed because you were born male, those are feelings you've imposed on yourself. Please do not try to impose them on me.

I said it before and I'll say it again, black people need to break the complicit black silence and take an active role in preventing street crimes. Every black person out there is responsible and if they do nothing they're just as guilty as the person who committed the crime.

Katz spoke at my high school a few years ago, and his message was much the same. I got the impression that he didn't really know what he was talking about; he seemed like a career public speaker. I am not surprised to see that he is still spouting bullshit.

So... if it could be shown that women being overly shaming, disdainful, apathetic, rejecting, excluding or resentful towards men and/or male sexuality; that prostitution being too expensive/illegal(or not accessible enough); that women not having sex with enough men(and/or not often enough); that women not taking enough initiative to meet, date or have sex with men; or that women having too many unrealistic or misandric expectations from men can lead to higher rates in male-to-female rape crime - could I just go around around schools telling women that they are all to blame for the existence of rape and how it's their sole responsibility to fix it?

In that scenario, he's every bit as much a "victim" as she is.

That's kind of unfortunate wording, in that it implies that sexual contact causes people to be victims, but the equality point is true:

They both have equal negligeable impact to their marriage-value.
They both face equal risk of std or consequences of pregnancy.

There shouldn't be such a sharp distinction between physical and sexual assault. Both are violations of personal integrity

Funny to think that if we remove those who had alcohol in their system when they were raped, you've cut the number to less than half (supposedly on campus, the number of victims drinking alcohol increase well into 90%).
Why do I say that?
False rape cases.
Sure, it's not a reason why a woman should be raped, but you can't say she was completely innocent. I'm sure there's LOTS of cases where the woman gets tipsy/drunk, the guy sounds persuasive, they both consent to sex, then in the morning she regrets the decision for whatever reason ("Oh no, if anyone finds out, they'll think I'm a slut!"), then she says fuck it and reports it as a rape.

This is also one of the big reasons why you NEVER pick up a woman at a bar or who has been drinking.
