So, A, how does anyone believe the world would be a better place without us? We literally keep the lights on and the roof from falling. Get the food delivered.

I've thought about this. Imagine:

the majority if garbage collectors. Garbage would pile up. Filth, smell, disease.
the majority of truck drivers. After 3 days, grocery stores have no food and people stop eating.
the majority of plumbers. Pipes burst? Your house floods.
the majority of construction workers and manual laborers. No new cars or buildings.
majority of police. Imagine if criminals know they will almost certainly get away with any crime, even murder

I could go on, but I really don't think I have to.

But really, let's not make it a comparison. Women's strikes are wrong because they imply men do less, and women aren't fairly compensated, neither of which is true. Society clearly favors women and gives preferential treatment in law and welfare. No one denies that women don't contribute, but we resent the idea that men are the "lazy gender who get more then we deserve."

Why do feminists need to play this gender war? Both men and women do important jobs. Some of the jobs women do would tear the health sector apart if they were all to take a day off and same goes for men. There would total chaos in different ways.

If the male jobs went on strike: Everything would break. If the female jobs went on strike: Everyone would break.

We need both, all of them are important jobs, and to my mind it doesn't matter so much whether jobs are male or female dominated, unless you start taking actions to artificially alter the ratios.

I'm gonna say it: does it actually matter?

Of course I know some who voice their gendercidal tendencies about getting rid of men. But like... do we need an argument against that? Will they become capable of feeling empathetic towards men once a man tells them that men are needed? Are those actually arguments where our time and effort are well spent?

I feel a much more compelling approach would be that claiming men not to be needed unless evidence is provided is a manifestation of men's perceived lack of value to the point of being revoked the right to live until you can prove that you are a valuable tool to use for others advancement - thereby displaying that it is not just men being considered to be strong and so on that is backfiring as benovelent sexism, but men being misandristically expected to posess up to superhuman abilities to the point that others will consider getting rid of them if they do not - and it shows, as men literally die to the jobs and mental stress placed on them.

Men receive less empathy as victims compared to women. Is it a result of the patriarchial belief that men will become invincible if you just pretend for long enough - the only way it could be part of a benefit to men, or is it a result of the deeply rooted misandristic belief that if the man wasn't able to defend himself and cope with the resulting injuries, impairment and trauma in silence, he was nobody valuable and convenient enough to feel empathetic towards and if a man wasn't able to provide and is now homeless, that he is nobody worth protecting and feeding, as he prooved to be incapable of competing in the very abilities, the very reason his gender was kept alive for?

Can't we all just agree that both men and women are required and if either one of them went on strike . It would be as if the world has stopped moving. I thought the main purpose of this group was to be better than feminist. They are putting men vs women. We just want equal rights. Don't derail the conversations here.

If women stopped working the child care and food prep and cleaning crisies would be bad enough to rival the infrastructure collapse and end to shipping we would see if men stopped working. She didn't spend 3 hours making dinner because she is lazy or stupid or painfully inefficient. It really does take 3 hours to make a healthy dinner for a large family. The cost savings from making the food from scratch was well over the value she could have provided doing paid labor.

While roughly equal numbers of men and women participate in the workforce, they are not equal participants. Men do much more in the paid labor force and women are much more engaged in the unpaid labor aspects of the workforce. This unpaid labor isn't just valuable, but mission critical.

This kind of "men provide more value" kind of post is really no different in form or function from the "The Wage Gap" posts seen in feminist forums.
