Disclaimer, this is a half-assed rant, and its definitely on me to take a break from Twitter.

It is a weird and lonely experience trying to advocate for egalitarianism/men's issues as a woman, and I broke down a little bit after being bombarded online for trying to express my views on these things. Granted, I should have realized the radfem I was talking to wouldnt have her mind changed anyway and I should just leave be. My hubris got the best of me.

Long story short what should have been a discussion about how misandrist culture makes male violence worse, and how violent individuals are an outlier from the group as a whole, etc, became a tiring back-and-forth nitpicking statistics so I could stay afloat. I was in over my head. These types of people would rather shame and namecall another women, even call them a misogynist before acknowledging that men and women are equal. And they all were affirmed in their agreement.

It's not a meaningful thing, I know, for this sub. it's mostly a personal, enveloping feeling catching up to me, but it really caught up. I've been sitting thinking about how few people are in agreement with me in the mainstream. About how it's taboo to even discuss men's rights somehow. It's all so crazy and irrational. I cant focus. I've thought about how tired I am supporting a group that I'm not a part of, but then get discouraged after I realize that their own voices are often seen as LESS important than mine on the matter.

I hope soon people will be more receptive and I hope this is all an internet distortion of popular opinion. I'm just very very tired at the moment. I want the feelings of my own sisters thinking I'm a traitor, a misandrist, or a pick me to disappear... I'm feeling the weight right now.

We can get through this together, you guys and girls. But first a long nap, because damm.
