I hope it’s alright for me to chip in here. I am not a trans man, but rather I’m non-binary and was assigned male at birth.

There is something no one in the LGBTQ community really ever thinks about, because intactivists like myself have so much more work to do in raising awareness — circumcision can heavily correlate to gender dysphoria. I struggle so much with the grief from my genital mutilation for many of the same reasons as men, but an added reason I struggle with is that it causes me daily gender dysphoria. Knowing that a harmful surgery was done on me at birth to “make me a man” and permanently leave me scarred as what a man is to American society... no matter how much I shave the facial hair, grow out my beautiful long hair, or dress androgynously, I will always look down and see that my genitals are permanently marked with a scar because I was born a “boy”, and boys specifically are treated like nothing when it comes to bodily autonomy.

I also have to contend with the fact that I’m still biologically a male. Which means I suffer the vast majority of the same sexism that men receive. However when I open up about this... people say it’s because I’m LGBTQ or because I’m neurodivergent. Sometimes that’s true, but I wish people would see that being a man (or being seen as one) can lead to being treated really poorly a lot of the time.

Trans FtM here!

A lot of my issues, even being trans, are really similar to the typical ones to be honest. The biggest one is obviously related to body-image. Being a guy without a penis is well quite hard on your self esteem to say the least. This interwaves with the rest of body image, I'm healthily fit, but always felt I'm not muscly enough, especially that I'm small so I canno't capitalise on being taller than my partners to display natural masulinity.

One which is my lack of assertiveness and being a "talker", I can see how I'm not progressing and be respected as much as I could at work, because of that. And I'm always wondering if this lack of assertiveness does not come from that 1.i was brought up as a girl and 2. I spent the formative year of adolescence being more occupied fighting my gender disphoria and depression rather than like most guys being forced to learn how to flirt with girls which would hence translate into people skills at work.

Another one which is more related to queer men in general, the growing misandrist feeling in alternative queer spaces. Gay men are becoming the 'white hetero cis male" of the queer community, and being cis looking, I'm kind of automatically lumped in that category.

Please just a crumb of treating us like cis men. We are not any less manly nor are we diet men. Please do not call us cute/soft/small/etc. Please don't feel like you need to walk on eggshells around us to not offend us. We are normal men. Please treat us as such. If you wouldn't say it to a cis man, don't say it to us.

Not trans but I’ve noticed that trans men don’t like straight cis men (as with the LGBTQ community as a whole) either and most don’t support men or male issues so it’s good to see some that do.
