So, I think that I have trauma, but I'm having a hard time dealing with it because I can't find any resources that even acknowledge a person in my type of position. I grew up in a family that did not encourage me to be stoic or emotionless, so I am pretty good at expressing myself, but every resource I find online just talks about how guys need to learn to open up to deal with trauma, or it's a trauma resource catered towards women. And while I do think I'm trans, it doesn't negate the fact that I had an upbringing as a male, and therefore have experiences related to being treated as a guy.

The hardest part for me is that a lot of my trauma is related to feeling like no one cares about me as a guy, and feeling like I couldn't tell any therapist about this. Even when I explain my trauma to therapists I can never seem to explain to them what the real problem is. What really bothered me wasn't getting beat up by a woman. Even being the one arrested just because I was a guy didn't get to me too much. What bothered me was the fear I felt from my attacker's desire to take me down and that the court system was in favor of her because she was female. It didn't bother me that my mom went psychotic during my parents' divorce when I was a teenager. What bothered me was that she got away with it because "you're not supposed to judge women" and "they're just trying to live their best life". Even being molested. What I only feel comfortable describing as an uncomfortable experience, would be considered horrific had it happened to a female. These gynocentric attitudes made me feel so powerless that I can't even explain how hopeless I felt. And I've found that many therapists also perpetuate these gynocentric attitudes because psychology, for whatever reason, is currently a very gynocentric practice.

I know that I have to test around and communicate with therapists to find out if they can actually work with my problems. What my issue is, is that my current trauma revolves around something very political and touchy, and I'm honestly just terrified of trying to bring it up and getting pounded with political opinions. I don't even know if it's reasonable or appropriate to consider this trauma if it's related to societal structures.
