A very underrated factor that I'm starting to suspect is the role of names (at least for women). Kind of like job app discrimination stuff.

I once read an article where an Indian chick's matches went way up after she changed her name to a generically white one. I've never had issues with dating as a black woman, but I also happen to have one of the most generic Stacy names ever and have been told I look like Gabrielle Union in her prime (I think it's the cheekbones).
