fucking shit. same EVENING that her murder was announced and all over the news and papers, a SMALL story announced THREE men had been SHOT, one dead-no outrage, no candle lit vigils, no immediate action from cops, no calls for law changes. Just one shitty story at the bottom of most website pages, dominated by news of one woman dying.

EVERY day, men are dying from being stabbed and killed in the uk lately. NOTHING happens. ONE woman dies and look at the difference!

The london mayor, Sediq Khan, has stated he wants misogyny to be made illegal. but not musandry. He is not advocating for equal rights. nor has he stated why he think this will help.

Everyone here from the UK needs to nite together to ensure we all have equal rights, and anuse against ANYONE of any gender is illegal.

Police have arrested nobody as yet, all I've seen the police say is they think she was killed 5 minutes after she left the house and they're investigating whether she might have been killed by a stranger. The obvious conclusion to draw from all that very specific information is that she must have been killed because of misogyny! #fuckingfacepalm

It is outrageous that there is no specific law against killing a black woman. We need to pass one now. Then, in the future, people can look back and say "it was legal to kill black women until 2021".

Personally I think the whole concept of hate crimes is identity based nonsense - the motive (often assumed motive) of a crime shouldnt be a crime in itself.

That being said it is simple that if misogyny does become a hate crime then misandry has to be too. Otherwise you are making one gender more legally protected than the other. How anyone can even think is compatible with an equal society is beyond me.

If they declare misogyny a crime and men that attack women are being convicted of it, then they need to make misandry a hate crime as well and start convicting women of wanting men that are 6 feet tall or expecting men to pay for dates.
