Apparently she was very in love with her husband in the early years of her marriage and if it was all just pretended he would have realized it earlier. Maybe she is also attracted to women, but apparently it was not a problem for her for all these years, which means she most likely is not a lesbian but at least bisexual. So why break her husband's heart and destroy her family all of a sudden without any need?

I think this whole coming out thing is an extremely selfish action of her, probably someone convinced her that her sexual satisfaction and freedom was more important than loyalty to her family and husband. She obviously only cares for herself.

I feel very sorry for her husband and her son.

Many years ago, a close friend of mine was dating a girl who made him immeasurably happy. They spent so much time together and he was planning to ask her to marry him. About 3 years into the relationship, she came out as gay. It devastated him. He was so depressed and it honestly got difficult to be around him, because nothing I could do would cheer him up and help him out of his melancholy state. It took him a long time to recover, but I don't he ever really got over it. He hasn't been in a serious relationship since, and I don't blame him.

My rule since my 20s, "NEVER get married". The odds that it will last are slim. I've seen MANY friends and family member's lives messed up over the years and heard other horror stories too. I am SO GLAD I never got married. It's not worth the BS. Plus the guy ALWAYS gets shafted if it goes south. Unless the female is an addict or something.

I've heard of this situation before, but it's always been the reverse in a religious type community. Gay man marries , has kids ,then comes outta of closet . Destroying family . At least it wasn't 25 years down the road . No it's not the ideal situation but at least maybe possibly he can recoup from the situation and move on.

I don't think anyone is wrong in this situation, imagine being in the wife's shoes, it must suck but if she wants a divorce that's her decision, and of course the husband's feelings are perfectly ok. I keep hearing that she should have been honest from the start but there's a good chance she never knew she was a lesbian, so I don't think she's a villain in this scenario.

yeah done with this sub. This has nothing to do with feminism. Just as getting married isn’t anti-feminism, couples getting divorced doesn’t necessarily mean pro-feminist. You can complain about biases in family courts but couples getting divorced for legit reasons and sharing custody together is the best outcome for unhappy marriages.

This post is literally mgtow topic(nothing wrong with the movement). The wife in question could literally be anti-feminist and would still get a divorce for same reasons.

I mean like, just saying “I’m divorcing you because I found out I’m gay” is pretty cruel. And usually with situations like that from my experience, there’s usually someone of the same gender on the side. I know of someone who used the “I’m actually gay” to divorce his wife for his boyfriend only for his ex wife to find out he isn’t actually gay because he was cheating on his boyfriend with a woman.

I’ve seen like 3 of those situations without the after cheating on the new partner.

I know that there are many different situations like maybe the partner is cool with finding out his wife is actually a lesbian and just wants her to be happy. Supportive and stuff - But not everyone is automatically gonna feel like that.

Not saying homosexuality is a choice btw
