Those boys are going to be like 10 and 11 when he gets out. The man who killed their mother is going to be out of jail before they even hit puberty. The loss of their mother is going to affect two innocent little boys for many, many years to come. And he just gets locked up for a tiny fraction of their childhood??? How are they supposed to feel safe in the world?? They know their mother is gone, but her killer is going to be free loooong before they can fully grasp and process what happened and heal from that trauma. The judge should have thought more about her children when he handed down a sentence. He should be jailed at least until they are both 18.

So much to unpack here but I think a huge point is that when pickmes and instathots normalize being strangled in bed, it literally helps men get away with murder. Men get lighter sentences because our culture believes its totally cool to be strangled in bed, and those lighter sentences make it more likely more women will be killed. Normalizing BDSM and kink harms women!!!
