There are no real implications in the case itself as any respondent can file a counter-petition and also become a petitioner and the petitioner would then also become a respondent.

Tactically, generally better to be on the offensive so you control the first shot, the pace and put them on the back foot toward responding. But that too, is typically temporary unless you're going to continually hammer them and have an unlimited legal budget.

Nothing really. It’s just that someone has to file and someone has to get served. That’s about it. Just the way it works.

It doesn’t matter. What matters in family court is who has the money so that they can start the fleecing. If you have balls, then you are the bad parent. If you are emotionally charged and crazy hormonal, then you are the victim and should be compensated accordingly by fleecing the other party.
