What's your 'perfect world'?

I'd want to be self-sustainable in the sense of having farming, cooking from scratch, and DIY skills where I have my own ranch or farm with animals and where I source plenty of my own food. Like you, I love the idea of staying home and doing most of the housework while taking care of kids, but I'd also want to have some sort of at-home business or remote work at least part-time, so preferably I would want to split some of the housework and cooking with my husband.

A world where everyone gets to do exactly what they want without judgement or prejudice, and where every person is magically paired with a partner who a) loves them and b) wants the exact same thing as them. Stay at home moms marry traditional husbands, independent career women marry husbands who want to be a power couple, nomadic women marry nomadic men, the Kim Ks of the world marry the Kanyes of the world, etc etc etc.

Traditional gender-roles, all the traditional stuff. Cook everything from "scratch", clean, sew, care for him, children, SAHM, homeschooling, he makes all the important decisions, all this. The so-called "patriarchy" is just fine with me. Bring it on.

And "to honor and obey" WILL be in my vows.

A world where people are paid well for their labour, where the highest earners are not worth trillions of dollars, there is good safe housing for all, good healthcare for all. People are free to set up their families as they wish, and the pay is good enough that you can have one person at home, the other working. Work-life balance is more important than becoming obscenely wealthy. Making our human impact on the planet less detrimental. De-escalating conflicts, we dont need wars. Communities where people can come together to care about their local areas and get to know each other, regardless of their backgrounds. The disabled and sick are treated with dignity. Education is a right not a privilege, and value is placed back into creative work.

My world is damn near impossible to create from what we have now, but that is my ideal. Human happiness, for everyone, not just the few.

Homesteading! I’d make/fix clothes, cook with seasonal ingredients from our garden or a farmer’s market, and have some chickens! Maybe goats, depending. And in general take care of the home and children ☺️

Ideally? I'd want to work side by side with my husband in some kind of home-based industry where the kids could be involved too.

In reality I have zero idea what that would look like - we are city people - it's not like we know how to farm! So I guess we will keep stumbling along this way...
