Disclaimer: I’m a woman, but I doubt I’m your enemy. The world has shunned both real men and women, but we are and we’re always meant to be complementary sexes.

Ok, I’m not trying to play the blame game. But I think it’s important that some of these discussions try to address what’s causing society’s problem, which I believe screws over both genders. It’s not a matter of whether to blame men or women; I more so want to highlight things that are wrong and hope it leads to more honest discussions on how to fix it. I’m going to try to keep this somewhat brief and hopefully discuss more in-depth in the comments. So, forgive me for what I miss.

Generally, I think both traditional men and women are getting the short end of the stick in our society for connected reasons, though they’re affecting us differently.

For men, I think a big problem is that you’re society’s talking punching bag. People pay lip service to women and the gender-dysphoric folks seeking validation at the expense of everyday, decent men. Basically, it’s ok—even expected—that we blame nearly every inequality on men generally (even though it’s really a few people [traditionally men because men are more natural leaders on balance] in power that shaped the way everyone else lived). The result is that everyone who’s “woke” feels justified in the countless microaggressions aimed at the men in their lives—essentially, holding these innocent men accountable for what they did not cause. White men especially can’t do anything right even when they’re sometimes agreeing with the people attempting to degrade them. (And no, I’m not racist or trying to race bait anyone just calling it as it is; as an ADOS, I’m glad that women in my community still tend to value men who exemplify traditional gender roles despite some men considering us “gold diggers” for this.)

For women, our female experience is being trivialized and even erased. Women (and some men) are convinced that “gender equality” is synonymous with “gender equity.” But gender equity takes for granted that women aren’t meant to be men; in fact, they can’t be and vice versa. We are different—now something too controversial to admit. Women for years thought they were empowering women by abandoning all things traditionally female (inherently even) for what was traditionally meant for males. And even though women are now less happy today than they were in the 60s—and the majority of married women report wanting a more traditional marriage—what’s “traditional” is what’s considered sexist. (Ironic because it actually valued the best of both sexes). Men=strong, aggressive, pragmatic providers & women=beautiful, emotional, nurturing servers. Some of these traits once appreciated, now have negative connotations not because they’re actually sexist, but they document how we are different. Moreover, the paradox within this “progressive” feminism is that it now puts transwomen who are biological males before women. And that’s eroding plenty of the real equality spurred by earlier feminists.

I’m very sad we are no longer being able to accept that we are unique and complementary sexes. There is literally no group for women (and just women) on Reddit to express this btw, so that’s why I’m here. I hope you’ll understand.

Chivalry has died for women and with it so has deference to men. We need each other; in fact, we need each other even more than we need others of our own sex.
